  1. If this approach proves ineffective this time around, and OCR staff desires it, I'd be more than happy to write the most ominous cease and desist letter I am capable of producing and inform them that it will be forwarded to their local authorities.

you made that sound so badass you should just do it anyway

  2. so, I'm really having fun with this demo, getting a feel for the controls and just taking in the sheer beauty of it (minus some stupid low-res textures UGH)... the lighting in particular is quite impressive to me

anyway, is it just me, or can you only use healing items once you've taken extremely heavy damage? I don't really like the idea of not being able to heal because I have too much health remaining, and then getting killed by an enemy that's strong enough to deplete the rest of it :/

  3. on the topic of amusement parks, I'd throw Kings Island out there too. probably not as long of a drive as Cedar Point for us IN/MI/IL/KY folks (about 2.5 hours from Indianapolis compared to 6-7 for Cedar), plus the lines are generally much more tolerable. some of Cedar's rides (Raptor, Millenium Force, Dragster), as amazing as they are, take like 2-3 hours to get through the line on any given weekend.

yeah, if I had to choose between the two, even not having experienced Cedar Point, I'd go with king's island

great rides and MUCH better line times. plus I know the place like the back of my hand :D

and yes, I'm interested in attending this meetup. king's island would be fucking sweet

  4. so my SD card crapped out and I used a different one from my house. now in the process of re-downloading all my apps :/ gonna be more than a little pissed if it also lost all the gamesaves and data D:

anyway, the resident evil demo scared me shitless. I couldn't fucking figure out how to use the knife though so I died.

and super mario 3D land is one of the best games I've ever played on any system

  5. I'm laughing at this thread because it's titled "what the hell happened to music!?" and the OP example is by one of my girlfriend's favorite artists of all time. she and I watched this video the night it came out because she got a text from Nicki Minaj's Twitter. I don't like the song very much at all, but I can also tell that people like nicki minaj (and lady gaga) are strictly half-assing it. it's part of being a pop star now. kind of like "welp, everything's been done before... let's obviously stop trying altogether to freshen things up!" it's all about being "ironic" now

really though, if you're looking for traditional musicality in rap songs I don't know what to tell you.

  6. yeah on a sociological scale media piracy is essentially a reaction to having to pay thirty fucking dollars for a single shitty dvd

in the era of netflix it's clear that not only can direct view, non-time oriented programming flourish, but it's more profitable than any alternatives and is generally more respected by its customers

if music and video games and television and books could all just learn to embrace similar business models, piracy would see a significant downturn

    damn.

    quoted for emphasis

  7. It's worth mentioning though, that most of these soundtrack have production values already equal or above OCR bar. Topping these modern professional compositions will be a tall order for the remixers.

I'm going to disagree here, with gusto

it's almost entirely a question of arrangement, and every remixer has already held to a specific standard of doing so
