Hello all. I have a rather specific and somewhat vulnerable request that I admittedly feel is very unlikely to ever see the light of day, but if perhaps this request results in the sparking of other ideas instead, then I think that is already worthwhile. I have minimal experience as a musician (I'm that guy who picked up Soprano Saxophone over all the others, and wanted to play classical over jazz too) and just a basic understanding of music theory to be able to talk about things properly, so a lot of this is going to simply be feelings based. As stated in the title of the thread, the song I am hoping to see ReMixed is Friendship from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is a song that I have held close to me since I played Xenoblade 2 upon release. When I first played this game nearly 6.5 years ago (bloody hell, really?), I was just starting to come out of an incredibly dark place and making hard realizations and hard decisions to keep moving forward in my life. Xenoblade 2 ended up accidentally lining up with that very important time in my life, so it will forever hold a special place in my heart and mind. Fast forward to today, and one of the things I have accomplished in my journey forward is meeting some of the best friends I'll ever have in my life and being in a position to nurture and reciprocate those friendships with everything that I have and continue to grow towards. In line with the usage of this track at the end of Chapter 2 that I think of when I hear it, I am finally walking down a path that after years of growth and discovery I feel I can call my Aptitude. I feel I owe a lot of it to the friendships I have forged over the years and treasure those bonds more than most other things in life. Requesting this ReMix is more or less wishing to transform this positive reflection into deep musical expression. The approach and style of this ReMix I am imagining in the style of the Korean band Novasonic, who contributed some instrumental variations of their works to one of my favorite MMOs of all time, CABAL Online. This is also a game that holds tremendous meaning to me, and since I played it all the way back in 2008, I have chosen the Map Theme Green Despair to basically be my "theme song" for the rest of my life, and no other song since then has been able to move it out of that position. Other notable tracks are the Map Themes of Port Lux, Desert Scream, and Bloody Ice. Particularly with Green Despair, Novasonic does something with their music that allows me to experience a full emotional journey from start to finish that feels like it comes full circle. That's the sort of feeling I would like to experience with the track Friendship from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. In a lot of ways, this is probably more appropriately a commission than it is a request, which isn't out of the realm of discussion for me, but this is the basic framework.
