Hi all,
I’m posting here because someone online elsewhere suggested that this might be the right place to ask. Apologies if this is in the wrong subform.
I’m currently nearly finished a VST orchestration/realisation/extension of the opera from Final Fantasy 6. I was partially inspired by Kelli Butler, Joshua Blue, and Patrick McNally’s charity performance from a couple of years ago—I wanted to make an orchestral version that people could sing over if they wanted (as well as a version with some of my own singer friends singing the parts).
It was a pretty large-scale undertaking, and I’d love to sell the result on Bandcamp, but I have absolutely no idea how to go about acquiring licensing or permission to sell.
Since it’s about 15 minutes long, I was thinking of selling the separate sections as separate tracks, but I don’t know if there’s any guidelines around that. I think that most releases of the music, apart from the original soundtrack version, have been as a single track.
Does anyone here have any experience dealing with this kind of thing, or know where I could look?
Thanks.
