Maybe it has been covered too (I don't have time to read 62 pages, neither) but Shinryu from FFV kicked my arse lots of times before I could get around to kill him.

I had a harder time beating Emerald than Ruby... but Omega Weapon of FFVIII requires an special mention.
I can't remember how many times Zell had to dance on its face with his fists to prevent the bastard from pullin' off the Meggido's Flame.
