  1. can you guys please tell me what software you use to stream the audio? I've been looking into helping a friend start up an internet radio station for his educational lectures.

I have someone I could use as a host, but setting this up myself is a huge technical challenge. I wouldn't even know what kind of bandwidth is recommended for streaming. I'd image there would be at least ~200 people listening at any given point.

  2. i hope "setting the bar high" doesn't necessarily mean you need to do vocals to consider it really good. Don't get me wrong, I saw that video a looong time ago and i loved it, but I personally wouldn't mind having a different take on the piece. (Though i think the rock guitar versions are so abundant on youtube of your not alone that its been way overdone).

  3. I agree! While the mix has promise (I wouldn't quite call it finished just yet...) it felt totally out of place as a remix of Steiner's Theme and I am somewhat relieved that there will be a new one coming in.

Dubstep is cool, but if you don't have the levels right, it just falls flat on its face. You've got the bass real high, and during that section the drums are practically a whisper under that bass. They should be hard hitting during that. There should also be a LOT more elements during those sections, instead of just the overpowering bass + the kick and snare/hat.

It feels like this could be fleshed out a LOT, as it stands it seems more like an unfinished work than something that is "intentionally minimalistic". Don't give up on it just yet!

Also the voice at the beginning and in other parts of the song.. could be lowered. A lot. Maybe to the point of being muted. ;-)

Pretty much this, I'm no composer so it was really hard to articulate what I thought about the song. But I think with some more refining it'll be cool...and yea...didn't really think that voice in the beginning fit.

  4. I want the album too, but we can't be selfish here. An album can't come out instantly whenever someone wants it too, and though you may think those tracks aren't vital they are to the director of the project. At the end of the day, the director is looking for his (or her) vision to be completed, for the entire piece to be a wonderful cohesive experience. Leaving out a few tracks that may not be vital to one person could be the equivalent of leaving out the smile in the Mona Lisa to the director.

As Brandon pointed out, there's several albums waiting in the wings to be released, and they're sure to be phenomenal. Be patient; this album will be out eventually, and when it does it'll be friggin' awesome. But until then, listen to what's out and will be out in the interim.

Yea I guess you're right. FFIX was a favorite so you know how that goes.... :P

  5. You don't think that Eternal Harvest, Esto Gaza, Terra, and Crossing Those Hills (I really hope I got the four right, had to do some digging to find them) are important songs to have on the album?

Either way, it's not like they can just say "Oh hey, we're suddenly done, let's release the album RIGHT NOW." These things take time.

I know it can't be released "RIGHT NOW". But unreleased tracks are holding the rest of the process up.

And no, eternal harvest and all that other stuff is not really critical(except for crossing those hills). Dont get me wrong, i'd love to hear them remixed but they can always be added in later as a separate track.
