  1. Okay...

Errr... the next few months are gonna be expensive:

    August: MP3

    September ???

    October: Endless Ocean

    November: Super Mario Galaxy

    December: Super Smash Brother

    Am I missing something big?

I'm sure I am. So do you have a suggestion for a september release?

Dewy's Adventure and Battalion Wars 2 (as dsx mentioned) are releasing in September.

  2. Except all emulators I've ever played with had the original system lag on them. Even MAME.

Isn't that exactly what he said? The lag on Kirby's Adventure is a perfect emulation of the lag on the original NES version?

  3. It is weird knowing that the series has finally come to an end, though.

I don't know about that. The worrying part of the epilogue is that it seems so much like fanservice to avoid people whining about the story having no proper "happy ending," I'm not sure she's got the force of will to follow through on her past convictions and be done with Harry Potter for good. Even if his story is over, I have this lingering doubt that she'll be able to stay away from his world and the money its loyal fanbase provides when appealed to.

Then again, her fame as "the author of Harry Potter" will probably give her a sort of Midas' touch for quite a few years to come; anything she produces in the near future is likely to turn into gold, at least financially, so she may never feel the need to return to good ol' Harry.

  4. I don't care much for Harry Potter (never read the books, never watched the movies), but I did get some big lulz out of the launch night spoiler videos I watched. I liked these two in particular (SPOILER WARNING, obviously):

If you got "big lulz" from that, you're pretty easily amused. No one even reacted that strongly; both videos were pretty much dumb.

As for me, I couldn't resist glancing at the YTMND spoilers a few days ago, but I think it's actually good that I know before hand how everything concludes, because it allows me to go through the book casually, enjoying the ride and calmly seeing how everything plays out to wind up the way I already know it does, rather than rushing frantically to the end just to see omg did he live did he live??

  5. LOOK WHERE THE HAND IS FUCKTARD

    word

Uh, yeah? That picture puts the cloud he referred to as Ridley entirely out of the picture. Notice: "[bowser] is the most clear, but directly below and to the right of him looks just like Ridley." You still fail to prove your worth as a human being, and in fact, by jumping from "kthx" to "FUCKTARD" to "word" so readily, you are rapidly disproving it.

  6. I noticed the load screen, too. I guess there might well be a really good reason why PC emulators seem to have issues with this particular game.. they might have done things that don't emulate well.

But.. doesn't this mark the final N64 title that actually worked near 100% through the Zelda emulator?

I was pretty sure F-Zero X was the last one of those, and Paper Mario is the first title Nintendo promised and delivered that didn't work off that same emulator used for the N64 games appearing on GCN.

  7. If they're smart, ZSS (lol "Zamus") will play VERY similarly to regular Samus. Even in Zero Mission, unsuited Samus could do almost all the maneuvers of regular Samus (sans special abilities), and the differences were rather minimal. They'd better not do something stupid and, say, make Zero Suit Samus have different areal speed, weight, jumps, etc. than suited Samus. Quick, someone analyze a trailer that has both Samus's in it!

ZSS has less "power" (I'm assuming this means the loss of her arm cannon and its related abilities, as those tended to be her most damaging abilities) and "stamina" (which probably just means she's a little lighter without her suit, a bit easier to toss around), but makes up for it in speed. She still has a gun to fire with so she's not entirely without range, and it's likely that she's more dangerous than normal Samus in melee range with her gun as a whip.

  8. I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me that the armor sticking around (and being interactive, no less) is a good indication of the potential for two-way transformation. I'm also willing to bet tomorrow's update will shed a little more light on ZSS, so as megadave says, there's really no reason to be freaking out about it right now.

  9. I'm very happy that the beam wasn't wussified at all for its in game appearance.

On the subject of Sheik, they've been sticking Zelda in a lot of screenshots I noticed. I bet its to really taunt people with the question of whether she can change or not, since Sheik was pretty popular in SSBM.

I'm probably thinking too much into this but I wonder if Zelda appearing in that last screenshot was a subtle hint. They've said one of the ways (as far as we know) you can get Zero Suit Samus and its not a change on the dime thing like Sheik...so maybe that could mean...

hey guys what if zelda's final smash is called "make a deal with zant" and all of a sudden the stage changes into a twilight form, each stage has a twilit version

lol nd then if theres gannondorf in the game she turns into puppet zelda and starts floatin n stuff

what do u think about that what huh wut

I think you all missed the true point of the update, which was clearly:

"Don’t fire! Do NOT fire that laser!

Why? ...Well, because it really hurts!"

Also, darn. I was hoping for Samus and ZSS to be different characters, but I did ask for something new from old characters. Be careful what you wish for.

omg r u implying that sakurai is hinting at a new peripheral for the wiimote that latches onto your skin and makes you 'feel' the game by shocking you for every hit you take???

'omg it hurtz stop shooting mee!!'

holy shit that's cool huh what do u think huh wut

  10. maybe it's just a dude who wanted to talk about a band he liked. maybe i'm being naive but i really doubt anybody from the band or their label is behind this. and why ocr of all places? i mean judging by the responses so far it's pretty clear that very few people here are into indie rock.

isn't that kinda what I said forever ago hmmmmmm

  11. I always forget about sales tax... is Alaska the only state without it?

I don't remember ever getting it when I bought points online in Virginia, but it was even cheaper to buy points cards there (less sales tax) and I usually did so. It popped up when I moved to Texas so I see absolutely no reason to buy online any longer.
