  1. I asked and was told to put this kind of thread here, but I'm looking to recruit some talent for a remix project I'm putting together. I didn't want to go invite only like Bound Together, I was looking to open it up to some newer talent or people I may not necessarily know of.

I wanna hold off on announcing the game right away, but if you get in touch with me either via a PM here, or through email (joecam at joecamnet dot com) or AIM (JoeCamNet on there) I'll be more than happy to fill you in on all the details, give you a link to the OST and whatever else.

If you get in touch with me, please make sure you provide me with a link to a mix or a few that you're proud so I can check you out and hear how you sound.

Some info I'm willing to share right off the bat is that there is a TON of material to pick from and the current release date I have in mind is around Christmas, so if you're interested, I'd prefer it if you could get your work done somewhat sooner than later so I dont' have to hound you around Thanksgiving to get me a WIP or wait until last second to get a final mix (looks at beatdrop)...

I'll talk to anybody who is interested, whether you're a new mixer, an established veteran or somebody I havent' gotten along with in the past. I'd love to get as much talent involved as I can!

    Hope to get some replies!

As per request: The game is Animal Crossing.

  2. Thank you so much guys, I know I don't venture over here as often as I used to, but I still lurk occasionally when I can.

Much appreciated for the birthday wishes and thanks to everybody who didn't show up at the wedding after saying they'd make it. You all suck. :D

  3. Since Starla came up I need to say this with all of the respect and love for her in the world and I mean absolutely no offense to anybody here or any ill will to anybody for any reason.

Starla has like the greatest ass in history.

Again, I deeply apoligize is anybody is offended by my comment and I mean no disrespect or malice... just... DAMN.

  4. First off, sorry if this is in the wrong forum area, just trying to give people the heads up about it.

But I just wanted to show off the pretty link to SPLUNK!, the first remix project of 2008. And yes...it was live before Thieves. Ask Taucer. He's still pissed at me...hahaha...

    Real MAGFest Discussion:

Joe: Yo Taucer! Whats up! You hear Splunk yet? How ya been?

    Taucer: I'm good! What's Splunk?

Joe: First remix project of the year on OLR. Just went live at 4:57am today.

Taucer: I hate you. I fucking hate you. Goddamn you, Joe, you beat me by a day!

    *sigh* Memories.

    Anyways, check this project out!

    http://spelunker.olremix.org/

Features new remixes by Diggi Dis, Mustin, Mazedude, zyko, virt, po, Zeratul, Kunal, Nasenmann and DjSammyG

    Hit that shit up yo!

Also, a ghost chases your mouse pointer. You need to check it out just for that.

  5. This is pretty crazy... Always weird to lose somebody in your tight knit community.

Thought I gotta side with Dhsu... The idea of a "tribute video" with mashed up music, video game footage and quotes from reviews of his remixes sounds like it'll be pretty cheesy and wince inducing, and not in a good way.

I know that it'll be something done with love and care, but making a tribute to him in song seems like a much better idea than a tribute video...

  6. FAGFest started about 4 years ago. It was just after a MAGFest party and I was kicking around the idea of hosting a New Year's Party with a ton of my friends just coming to hang out and have fun. Play games, get drunk, chill.

The name originated from Shael Riley by saying "I'm totally down for a fagfest at Joe Cam's" and it stuck. We decided it stood for Friends and Gamers Festival.

It was a great success and we eventually had one a few months later in March for St. Patty's Day and my birthday, dubbed St. FAGgy's Day. May say FAGmorial Day. July say F4GFest: Independence Gay. October later saw FAGFest: Halloweenis.

Then we went back around and continued with FAGFest II for the following New Years. Parties have been held steadily since with only two parties not happening. FAGmorial Day II was scrapped due to the OneUps Live concert in Arkansas. FAGFest III New Years Party was not held due to MAGFest being too close to New Years and most people couldn't attend both parties.

The next FAGFest party is going to be FAGFest: Halloweenis III (October 26-28th) which has become the only main party to not be held in PA. Last year's and this year's Halloweenis are taking/took place in New Jersey, where my good friend Pappy lives.

We always love to have new visitors at the parties and you never know when somebody (internet) famous is going to show up. We've had Ailsean appear twice, Mazedude dropped by, X-Strike Studios members Tim, Juese and Rory frequent often, X-Striker Steve Smith has appeared a number of times, PBC member Chad Williams is a regular and PBC member/Captain Motherfucking S has dropped by as well.

Not to mention the fact that Shael Riley is one of the most frequent visitors and his brother tags along often as well.

Oh yeah, and virt was at last year's Halloweenis and is trying to make this year's as well.

Other well known (of sorts) visitors have included Geoffrey Taucer, D-Rux, Moguta, Rez, DJ Potatoe, pixietricks, Shonen Samurai and Zeiram among others.

FAGFest isn't for everybody, but most people love it. And seriously, if you HAVEN'T been to a FAGFest party at least once, you don't know what you're missing.

    Oh yeah...and the Iron Editor...

This is the preview video for Iron Editor V set to take place in October.

This is the link to find the rest of the Iron Editor Videos that are presently online:

So yeah... That's the history of FAGFest and what not.

    Any other questions? :D

  7. MAGFest ends Saturday night??? The hell it does!

That shit ends when you let it end.

I remember spending Monday afternoon walking around a shitty dirt mall, browsing a candy store and going mini golfing with Dale North and Diggi Dis among others.

I remember spending Sunday night helping clean up the con area and running stuff back to Brendan's and listening to Triforce talk about Zelda for hours...

Then spending early monday morning at an airport dropping off the Wave Theory crew.

sometimes, the people who duck out early Sunday are missing some fun shit. I always plan to make sure I don't work Monday, because you NEVER know when you're gonna feel like spending just one more day with some of the best people on the goddamned planet.

  8. I'm a prydef for an appearance as long as work gives me the time off that I requested...

Also, of note, FAGFest will be the weekend prior to MAGFest...

We're kind of gonna do the new years party on new years eve and then the following day or so all carpool down to MAGFest together so if anybody feels like having a week long party of awesomeness, you're welcome to attend both the FAG and the MAG.

Also, I'm gonna do what I did the past two years at MAG and just mooch room space off of somebody, will YOU be lucky enough to get me in your bedroom? *giggle*

  9. Alright, put a few more listens into everything and I definitely give this a thumbs up. Not every track is a runaway success and despite what Taucer says, not every song is an instant hardon (then again, it's kinda easy to give him a boner............. don't ask.), but the majority of these tracks are total winners and MAJOR props to Zirc for putting it all together and all the mixers for doing a great job.

This is 100% Joe Cam Approved, and that means absolutely nothing!
