  1. HOLD IT!!

As the Court Record clearly shows, the awesomeness of all these new avatars clearly contradicts any complaints from the witness!

Of all the foolishly foolish things fools have foolishly - Wait, wrong character.

Yeah, I'm definitely glad to have some Ace Attorney avatars available now.

  2. Yeah, people were thinking Starcraft 2, but it looks like they're wrong.

Not necessarily. It's quite likely that these job listings are completely unrelated to the announcement coming up next month. You don't start hiring leads when you're far enough along on a project to announce it and release screenshots, unless that project has seen some serious internal turmoil.

did they release starcraft ghost? I remember thinking that it looked really cool, but never say anything from it...

Ghost was put on hold indefinitely a few months back, so we probably won't be seeing it any time soon, if ever.

  3. Here's a nice helping of rofl. On the subject of Square-Enix not bringing their games to the virtual console:

"We feel that the Japanese game market still requires media," he said. "Also, FF and Dragon Quest are played by a wide range of users, from children to adults, so there are limitations when you consider the problems that we would have with billing systems."

Oh, yes, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that they can just rerelease those games over and over and over again for far more profit than they would get from releasing them on virtual console. Or is that what he means when he says "the market still requires media"?

  4. ;258143']...especially since he would write such nonsensical ramblings half the time and disregarded so many traditional conventions of literature.

His disregard for the traditional was actually the main thing I liked about his writing.

Also on the subject of Vonnegut's writing style; from an interview with Douglas Adams from 1979 that I read a few weeks ago:

"Sirens of Titan is just one of those books – you read it through the first time and you think it's very loosely, casually written. You think the fact that everything suddenly makes such good sense at the end is almost accidental. And then you read it a few more times, simultaneously finding out more about writing yourself, and you realise what an absolute tour de force it was, making something as beautifully honed as that appear so casual."

  5. Thinking of getting:

Ratchet and Clank 1-3 (played a bit, was fun)

    ...

Okami (never played, supposbed to be fiya)

Resident Evil 4 (own 1-CV except this one and 0, looks hott)

Do it. The R&C games are an absolute blast, Okami is incredible, and RE4 is easily the best game in the series. Easily.

  6. I recently heard of a game called Hotel Dusk that looks very interesting, along the lines of PW, Myst, MoTaS, etc. Does anyone know much about it? I'm thinking of getting it after I finish my Phoenix Wright binge.

It's definitely not as good as the Phoenix Wright games, and it can get sort of tedious at times, but it's good. I'd recommend it.

  7. Planet Terror was absolutely fucking amazing. Like, I don't even know where to begin. It was all pure gold.

BUT, and this'll likely get me flamed, I thought Death Proof was rather boring, save for the actual action.

  8. I'm obsessed with Heroes as well, and Hiro is my favorite by far.

It's been a while since it was on though, and I just checked the website... no new episodes until April 23rd :(

  9. Developing a Starcraft MMO is like printing money, so I figure it's an inevitability. It's very nice to know that, when/if such a time comes, Blizzard isn't going to just make Warcraft in space (to bring back an old phrase).

Personally, I'd be content if they just developed another Starcraft expansion with new campaigns and some new multiplayer maps; I really can't imagine a new Starcraft being better than the original.

  10. Actually, I have. Something like this happened a few months ago. It was part of some fraternity initiation; they made this guy drink tons and tons of water to see how much he could drink, and he ended up dying.

This happened at CSU Chico, which is only a few hours from Sacramento. The radio station seriously should've known better.

  11. Wow. This was absolutely incredible. I downloaded this without reading the write-up, so I didn't know what to expect. By 1:30, I had completely stopped what I was doing and was just focusing on the mix, without even realizing it. It shows a level of technical skill that is just unfathomable to me, and creative instinct that I'm envious of. A brilliant arrangement, through and through.

  12. God, I love Rocket Knight Adventures. Nice graphics, great music, fun, challenging... It's one of those games that I don't see many people mention much, but was probably one of my favorite games when I was younger.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't some members of the team that developed RKA eventually split off from Konami to form Treasure?

  13. I liked this mix. Contrary to most of the other reviewers, I absolutely love the 80's sound to this piece; I can't really comment on the quality of the arrangement with respect to the source material though, as I've never heard the source tune before. It's definitely not for serious listening, but it's a solid addition to my online gaming playlist.

  14. Wow, I'm REALLY glad I checked the topic listing before posting. I had just finished writing up a post about this mere seconds ago, and was about to hit submit. Here's what mine said:

    http://www.mission-in-snowdriftland.com/

    Platformer/Calender/Advertisement.

It looks great, it's pretty fun, and it's even got some nice music, too. When you beat a level, you unlock a bunch of downloadable stuff, like wallpapers, for certain Nintendo games (First level is Yoshi's Island DS, for example.) There're 24 levels total, with one unlocked every day from December 1 through 24.

Honestly, this is probably the best advergame I've ever seen.
