) By "tight" of corse, I mean both its rythmic togetherness and its extreame degree of coolness. Of corse. 
And talk about FUN! I've put this on repeat for 10 mins. and I can't get enough! Very well done...10/10.

I'm digging the lead(s)! Whatever you choose for the instramentation, djp, it rocks! Also, I like the fact that you altered the original, but the source material is still easily identifiable. Nice acousic work, too...9/10.

I like it...I like it a lot. I'm definatly picking up the 80s vibe as (I listen for the third time.) I really enjoy the uber-cool distortion at 1'24-2'25. Very quality work.

I have to know, what is the theme that enters at 2:00? That's my favorite part when almost everything drops out right there.
That's the theme from SMW (SNES) after you beat the game and the credits roll. I have to say, that's probly my favorite part as well. And I LOVE the instramntation throughout!
9.5/10...only b/c the replay value is iffy. Still very well done!

Can anyone guess what I'm about to say about this track? That's right -- TOO DAMN SHORT! *sigh* But, for what we have, this definatly deserves some major props. Well done. I really can't find any flaws musically speaking at all... I will however, request that the remixer post an extended version! 9/10 (for shortness)

No offense to zyko, but I felt the guitar solos at 2:09 and 4:10 were completely out of place. The off-beat rhythm and generall overkill style of playing did not jive with the rest of the piece at all.
Apparently people don't recognize a good guitar when they hear it, and apparently I'm going to be a major dissenter on the issue, but I'd argue that the introduction of said guitar at 2'09 is what makes this track work so well. It's called juxtaposition, people! Taking two things dissimilar in nature (viola/elec. guitar) and putting them side-by-side to highlight the contrast. IMHO, it works EXTREAMLY well here. The result? One of the greatest remixes on OCR to date. The vocals were just awesome as well. They conjur up images of an Elvin princess singing to herself in the woods, or something to that effect... 10/10, easily.

As someone who's been singing for almost 10 yrs (born in '84), I think I know good vocal ability when I hear it. This is AWESOME! There may've been a few flat notes in there, but that's nitpicking. PLEASE don't hesitate to sing more in your mixes, djp! Nice work. 9/10.

Overall, I like it. That said, I would give some SERIOUS thought to an all-acoustic remix of this track. The first 30 seconds are, by far, the best -- after that I find myself losing interest.
The brevity of the track alone makes me able to finish it...that's not a bash, b/c I feel a great job was done given the genre/instramentation selection. I am, however, begging -- no, PLEADING the remixer to post an all-acoustic version!

Well, I may as well add my voice to the chorus. Very nice work...I've listened to this mix 20+ times already and it hasn't gotten old. The first time I heard it, I wanted to cry...very emotional! 10/10.

I like it. From a purely musical standpoint, it may be somewhat lacking, (i.e, procussion & ending) but I dig the bassline. To me, a good bassline is the key to a good song...the quality of any (modern) tune can be boliled down to the funkadelic groove of a good base, which this remix has in spades (note 1'57, and again at 3'03.) It may not change structurally, but does it really need to? I think not. This remix gets my foot a-tapping and my head a-bobbin, and frankly, that's good enough for me.

The source material lends itself well to a jazz version, and Vig has pulled it off extreamly well. If this is any indication of the quality of the rest of the project, I'm on the edge of my seat! A highlight for me has to be the intro of the guitar at around 3'05 (although I'm not quite sure what that "hissing" noise is in the background...) Anyway, I also thought the snipit of the Zelda Theme was interesting, and made me smile.
Great work, I can't wait to hear more... -
Exellent solo guitar. The mixing is supurb, everything blends perfectly. Only one conplaint: Too Short! I want more...

Hello everyone. I'm Tyler, and I've been addicted to this site for some time now.

I'm a lifelong and avid gamer from the Northwest, and I just felt it was time I start contributing to this site in a siginificant way. I'm a sophomore in college working toward a degree in journalism, but my true passions are music and gaming. I guess this site fits me perfectly. After hearing some remixes for the first time, I said to myself, "man, I wanna be able to do THAT!" (goat's Purple Heart, etc.
) So I've recently been toying around with Reason and FL, but to be honest, I'm confused as hell and have NO IDEA how music of such high caliber is produced from said software. I suppose it'll come in time...if anyone is willing to work with an extreme newbie, feel free to IM me or drop me a line (or I suppose you could just reply on this thred...)Anyway, that's me.

One of my favorite mixes. The different instramentation from the scource material changes this mix just enough for me to drop my jaw. The riffs at 2'20 to about 3'00 are a definite highlight, and the outro brings evertything down very nicely. Good work overall.

I've been addicted to OCR for a little over a year now, and this is, hands down, the single best remix that I've heard to date. Djp has really outdone himself, and I just wanted to join in the chorus of praise for this amazing masterpiece. It's uplifting, yet somehow haunting...great work, djp, and thanks for everything u do here at OCR.

BTW, I never actually finished going through the Monster Arena, (I borrowed the game from my roomate and the semester ended...we all went our seperate ways) so I'm sure there are some even more difficult bosses after Earth Eater, but that's the toughest one I faced.

The Earth Eater, found in the Monster Arena in FFX. I'm not sure about all-time toughest, but that bastard definatly ranks up there on my list. Magaton Punch (instant death) as a counter for any physical attacks...I had to level-up for about three straight hours before I could sufficiantly beat him down.

I'm pretty sure it was Rob Dugan. Anyway, as for the remix...like most people, I felt the kick was -- at best -- a bit out of place here. Other then that, I like it a lot. The "swing section" was the highlight of originality for me. I also like the exiting bells, but I couldn't pick up on any dogs barcking in the background...
