djpretzel
Hey! This is my third Star Control 2 remix. The first one is already available as a OCReMix and the second one is waiting for releasing because it is a remix for Star Control 2 re-release The Ur-Quan Masters (http://sc2.sf.net). Infact this 'To Mine The Heavens' is a remix for the same project, but was released as a teaser. And now OCReMix can enjoy this song as well. The remix is a remix of the orbital ambient music. Most trickiest part of the whole song was finding a pad sound for the melody. After several hours I ended up creating a SoundFont instrument of the original sample from the module! Sorry about the short length, but it has been composed and mastered primarly the game in mind and that's why it has a little bit of looping nature. Vig
The sounds are fantastic, moody and interesting, but the mix is pretty lacking...its a melody played twice? it's too short, it doesnt develop at all. use these sounds and create a real mix, make it escalate. Protricity
Ah.. high quality samples and instruments Always a nice to the ears DUde... DUDE>>> The song ended... .. wait... This is only 1:39?? Ok.. Ok.. this is like an intro with no song. Lots of hq effects, but theres no song here. Thats fine for an intro. Now start the song at 1:39, and work for like ... 4 minutes, and resubmit D:!! NO
Malcos
Loving these pads and ambient sounds, but this is just crying for escalation into a full mix. How dare you create such a wonderful intro and leave the poor song to die! NO
Digital Coma
Super ideas & inspiration without their deserved execution? Dark Crystal, anyone? Pads can only carry a melody so far by themselves. This works as BGM for a short interlude between two scenes in a cheesy 80's muppet film, but not for what we're looking for.
