LuketheXjesse
For some reason, when I record this specific riff, it fades in and out for no reason http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=a09a10796d52c3a8312dbd5f2bdc5062e04e75f6e8ebb871 Anyone got any idea why? EDIT: Did a bit of checking up, and I realize that everything I play does this. I have an odd feeling it has to do with my guitar's innards... Furilas
It might be because I'm tired, but I don't hear any appreciable fading in and out on that mp3. But seeing as you say it seems to happen on everything, I agree that it's probably your guitar's problem. Does it have active electronics? LuketheXjesse
What does active electronics refer to? also I heart your sig :
Lunarfall
If your guitar has a battery it has active electronics. Basically if the battery is dying, the guitar signal will fade in an out. If your guitar doesn't have a battery it has passive electronics. Have you went through all your effects to see if any of those are causing it? This guy's on the ball. It depends on the model, but generally the place to look for a battery is in the electronics cavity on the back of your guitar. If you see a battery in there (usually a 9-volt) replace it and see how things are then. And thanks, I figured you'd like it.
LuketheXjesse
Thing is, I realized that the lower strings are specifically what's quieter. Any other ideas?
Lunarfall
Raise the p-ups on the lower side.
LuketheXjesse
Adjusted them every which way possible. No effect. I'm really starting to think that MAYBE it's just me. EDIT: Listened to another recording. It's definitely not just me EDIT 2: I'm almost certain it's the third string that's really killing it... Could there be something wrong with my guitar altogether? LuketheXjesse
*facepalm* My master limiter was the problem. Beats me why, but it was making it happen. EDIT: Actually, maybe not >(
Skummel Maske
You've got a regular amp, right? Do you have the same problem there?

Nekofrog
What software are you using to record with? Are you using something like GuitarRig or Amplitube?

Nekofrog
That should be compatible with some of the patches I use; mind if I throw you some and you record and see if it still does it?
