It always jumped out of the speakers to my ears and I would sometimes not enter my password just so I could hear the entire theme before I started the game. -- Brian Morrissey Youth/Worship Minister Amelia Church of Christ www.ameliachurchofchrist.com www.ameliastudents.com ----------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.zophar.net/download_file/14324 - Track 1 The highs were a bit piercing, and I'd argue the mixing of the low strings made things a bit too muddy, IMO. The realism of the high strings wasn't good, but they weren't as exposed as they could have been. Aside from the mixing, it's a pretty good sound upgrade and definitely has an enhanced mood, but structurally, there wasn't much difference from the original. Much of the part-writing was verbatim with the original. You're headed in the right direction with the mood, Brian, so I'd love to hear this with more elements of intepretation. Cool first sub! Palpable
Good job keeping the desolate mood of the original, but as a sound upgrade, it didn't feel appropriate for OCR. There wasn't much interpretation beyond expanding the sounds. The bells got very piercing, and I'd say soften them in the mid-to-high end. The strings also could have played a little smoother. Otherwise, it sounded pretty nice and I'd like to see you sub something else that's more interpretive. NO
anosou
Yeah, Larry's right on track with this one. It's a decent sound upgrade and you enhance the mood quite a bit. Still, it's very close to the original track. Also, the production is lacking. The strings are muddy and lack tone and the highs are very piercing. The percussion was a cool touch but it was very repetitive and piercing. The soundscape was also rather barren with just a few instruments. While the mood was good this needs some more interpretation and elements. Not a bad start if you want to keep evolving your music making though! Keep it up!
