Scrap McNapps
Oh man Kontakt 4 is making me all warm and tingly so far. That is all. The choir library is nice. Besides the oohs and ahhs it has uuuuuus, mmmmms, and iiiiiiiiiiis. The variety is welcome.
Kanthos
Post some demos! Is Akoustik in there? Doesn't look like it, though Kontakt does have an acoustic piano of some sort, just not sampled to the same level as Akoustik Pianos was, I guess. Meteo Xavier
Has anyone tried the new VSL solo strings and such from Kontakt 4? I keep listening to the audio demo on NI's website and they just sound terrible considering where they come from. Is it just a bad audio demo or are they really not that good? zircon
AFAIK they didn't add any new VSL samples to Kontakt 4, just remapped the old ones. VSL has some great sounds but this is just a tiny subset of the full library. I've used the K2 VSL in a lot of my remixes and originals though, as the horns in particular are amazing. Also, pretty sure Akoustik and Elektrik are now in K4. Unfortunately K4 is really messed up. It won't load properly as a VST, or more accurately, the factory patches won't. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3828811 Read and let me know if you've had the same problem. big giant circles
The solo strings sound pretty decent, IMO, they sound much better with some reverb on 'em, and most of the demo songs are pretty dry is the problem there, I think. Andy, it seems to work fine for me...? /shrugs. Also, EW is a nice guy, but he's not always the most helpful.

You ain't whistlin' dixie, brother. Here are some others I found... http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=95179 http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=126731 http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=125422&sid=2d4ffde5efdab20ade46bad2e867b126 http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1854900 Glad I didn't buy it yet. I've had little luck actually finding proper reviews for Kontakt 4 yet, so $599 for Komplete 6 are a pretty expensive crapshoot at this point.
