Help finding a keyboard.

I'm looking to get into remixing and I'm in need of a keyboard on a budget of about $400, however I would like to find one that could double as a piano for my mother. From what I've seen though at this price point it's hard to find a keyboard that's good as a controller and a piano instead of just average at both or horrible at one and good at the other.

Is it possible for me to get something quality for such a low budget?

While you might find something like this in your price range, you really won't find anything that has fully weighted keys. Some people can deal with that sort of drastic change in action, though. I would take her to shop that has something like the M-audio keyboard in stock and have her try it out.
