LuketheXjesse Posted September 28, 2009 Share Posted September 28, 2009 Race against time indeed, this was my entry for SnappleMan's 6 hour long Punchfest compo, where you have 6 hours to make a song. The theme for this punchfest was Redbook Audio Games, which is any game that can be put into a cd player and its music listened to. This applies to Neo Geo, Sega CD, and some Saturn, Playstation, and Dreamcast games. My entry for this was Sonic CD, specifically the and zones. I didn't have much time to add original material (i.e. a solo) so the song ends rather abruptly and it's a bit coverish. I'll probably expand upon it at some point. I'm on three projects right now, however, so I'll have to put it off.That said, enjoy. All comments and critique are appreciated, specifically that of the production, mixing, and mastering kind. halc Posted September 28, 2009 Share Posted September 28, 2009 this is actually the first time i've heard any of your music it's cool man. i love sonic cd. i think the rhythm guitar was way loud. the lead sounded totally buried under 90 tons of metal (rawr) the drums were the weakest part, but i'm assuming they weren't your top priority (given the limited timeframe). hate that snare. and i don't think i'm hearing any kick until 1:17? moar kick please. not too bad, it just feels rushed.
