ArcoSapphire Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 This is the second Tyrian remix I'm putting up here (my first generated little interest), and I'd like to know whether the OCR community thinks I've done a worthwhile job. The Tyrian soundtrack is loved by so many (including myself); I think it was perhaps the best game soundtrack in the world in 1995. There have been a handful of remixes (usually just live-instrumental versions of the original composition) floating around on the internet, but this game has been largely ignored by the OCR community. Although I have to do everything in software and I'm not near a professional level, I just can't stand this lack of Tyrian material, and I'm trying to do what I can. This mix makes use of what I find to be the two most interesting phrases in "Gryphons of the West" (the intro and the bassline riff), plus some more original parts that I felt were in the spirit of Tyrian's music style. Let me know what you think. Quote
Mindless Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Let me know what you think. Kinda difficult since the file has been deleted. Quote
ArcoSapphire Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 I thought these things were supposed to stay up for 3 weeks...I'll try again: Quote
Nearly Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I like it. Some rather interesting things going on. I think the tune is a good choice too. Never played Tyrian, but I think I get your meaning. Quote
ArcoSapphire Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 I know my technique isn't very good yet, so I'm expecting some posts a bit heavier on critique. I hope I can generate interest with a remix that is neither Megaman nor an RPG. Quote
Mindless Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I think it sounds good. I'm a bit biased toward liking it though, just because it's Tyrian. Quote
