  1. Outstanding. Takes me back to Step of My Flowerbed by Nase. This is the stuff that you never hear anywhere but here.
  2. Amaterasu (Okami Felix (Golden Sun) Professor E. Gadd (Luigi's Mansion)
  3. My Housemates bought me this to pay me for the internet bill. I'm so glad he did. I'd have never got it myself and it's the best Kart Racer I've ever played. The Burning Rangers stage is hard, but with practise you can master it. I hated it at girst but now I love it. -D
  4. This is something I've had in my head for a while, and Just finally managed to get down. This piano mix (With Bass) is just meant to give a clear representation of the notes and arrangement, with the intention of this being a band recording (with saxophones and stuff like that). https://soundcloud.com/daniel-joseph-buck/mindscraper-piano-edit-1 The Original themes are Lunatic Princess Cosmic Mind Any input is appreciated. Specifically, I have some issues with the very last section where the two lead themes come together, but I'm taking a short break from the project while I sort out other work, so I'll take things on board and get back to it later. For final context. This is the band this is being written for. -Nearly
  5. *Rapturous Applause* The arrangement here really is spot on. It's so very departed from the heroic, self-satisfied gym theme. It's just brilliantly done.
  6. Holy... Hole! I remember glancing at this a while back and knowing it was gonna be awesome. Just postied on Facebook for the band I'm in to hear and they loved it too. This Tune, in it's Nightmare in Dreamland Guise is what kicked off my VGM obsession when I was 11 or so. I cannot wait to hear more stuff from the plaid muffins. This is the best post EVER!
  7. Just to Confirm I do mean Remixing. I'm loving the responses so far. And Thanks for the ref Bardic. Just ordered it. It's a little late for the essay, but will make nice bedtime reading.
  8. Hello. I'm an undergraduate writing an Essay on Video Game Music in relation to Musical History. Since academic material is thin on the ground I want to collect some information myself. Just three easy questions. Why do you find Video Game Music Compelling (listening and mixing)? What do you believe to be definitive of the VG music Scene? This could be a style, an atmoshere, a certain track even. How do you think VG Mixing is different to other form of modern grassroots music? Thanks to anyone who fills it in. Dan B
  9. Crikey! Blink and you miss it. There are much shorter mixes on the site but this goes by in a heartbeat. It's so difficult to keep a hold on the material and you never hear the same thing twice. If you'll excuse, ima listen to it again
  10. Having done some extensive, (and fun) research into pirate metal (yes it's a genre), i find this to be the best track on offer. For anyone interested look up Alestorm.
  11. I concur. The Tales of Monkey Island tracks are both beyond genius. Can't help but cheer along.
  12. MIND WELL AND TRULY BLOWN! Without a doubt my Fave Ocremix album. The Legend of Zelda Tracks are epic. The Kirby Stuff Beastly, the Monkey Island stuff explosively, giddily funkiblobbily sexy. Thanks to everyone for bringing thins monstah into the world. Cannot gush with more praise. The best album on the site and that's no mean feat.
  13. Djp, Hi. I am a Media student and have been doing an essay on Social Networking, and used OCRemix as an example of a Fan/Corporation Utopia in which there is a reciprocated flow of content, respect and genius in both directions (but not in so many words ;-))

I was wondering if you could hit me with a snappy quote on fan communities to put after my conclusion? No pressure just something that sums up why you think fans are important to the process of media creation maybe? Your call. As soon as possible would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Dan

P.s. I may do this again with my essay on Video Game Music as a development from the Baroque/renaissance.

  14. A very interesting Album indeed. A lot of people on other forums have claimed that the more recent Ocremix Albums, have become a a weaker medium through their desperation to include all the tracks and extend opportunities to as many artists as possible. I personally disagree with this, finding the Sheer quantity of interpretation the best way to do Justice to the original. Here is al album, like Essence of Lime, that will please both. The variety of tracks is great, and the overall direction is solid and recognisable. Sadly there is no point plugging this on Facebook. None of my friends are willing to see outside that which they already know. Great Album, great track, can't wait for the Pokemon one now!
  15. While It's impossible to deny that the mixing is a tad rough, I think it has an overall positive on the effect of the atmosphere. It's just a purely emotive piece, and precisely what the original song asks for. And I didn't find it too long at all. Because the soloing rarely repeats itself it flies by.
  16. I re-imported them to Itunes and it did the Trick. My sanity is saved!
  17. As you can see tracks have been divided and refuse to blend into a single album. As you can see artists do not necessarily fit into one group, so this is not the problem. Nor is it to do with date. I can't find a logical explanation in the file info. I was wondering if anyone else found the same problem?
  18. I have been trying to organise my Itunes Library. All thw OCRemix Albums now have artwork and I have been re downloading things that I had lost while changing computers. I have re catalogued all the old Ocremixes from the Main Site under the Album artist "Overclocked Remix" to match the sites more recent filing method, but for some reason the tracks have divided themselves up. There are now two big groups of Remixes that won't mix and several others have established smaller groups of two and threes. The groups do not distinguish between Date, Remixer or title name. as all are spread between the groups. I have scoured the file information but I am at a loss. It's frustrating my OCD. Please help before I snap and go on a random killing spree! Thanks
  19. Left beggin' for more. Particularly love the whistling integrated with the guitar.
  20. I have to point out in the offchance Sam reads this that I love that Kirby track he submitted for Dod. This too.
  21. Do I detect a Hint of Reggae? Somewhere in the middle... Nevertheless a beautiful arrangement of a a brilliant source. Producers really should pay OCremix for advertising. I've had this game in my Eye for a long time, but after hearing this again I'm gonna go order it. I won't be able to play it until I go home to my Wii for Christmas, but I'll read the instructions and drool...and listen to this mix some more
  22. Just severely brilliant. As an isolated fan of Banghra music this made my day.
  23. Kirby is the absolute best. One of the first games I ever owned was nightmare in dreamland and without it I would likely never have been interested game music. Now it's 2 am and I am dancing around despite desperately needing sleep. Thanks a ton Guys.
  24. This gave me shivers. In an Odd way is Reminds me of Joanna Newsom ( )in terms of Lyrics. But of course the guitar playing is very different and Beautifully crafted to the story. Having just moved to the surreal seaside Uni town of Aberystwyth, this really connected with me. Thanks for posting it up.
