Not remixes, but...

These arent really remixes, so let me know if there's somewhere else I can post them instead. As a way of working on my MIDI technique, I take MIDI data from 90s JRPGs (mostly FF) and give them a makeover with sample libraries. I just wanted to post several of them for feedback, since I'm always looking for things to improve upon. Here are a few that have turned out fairly well.

Cid's Theme (FFIX) - http://www.box.net/shared/fzrp16ylge

Fowers Blooming in the Church (FFVII) - http://www.box.net/shared/ouryk85ck8

Great Warrior (FFVII) - http://www.box.net/shared/y2o8tulqcg

I'd be doing more of these, but my current workstation cant handle that much of PLAY (I am an EWQL user), and I actually havent had much luck finding accurate MIDI files outside of FFVII tracks.

Right, I'm not doing this for submission. I just wanted to do something fun while studying music and improving my skills with the libraries I have as well as mixing/mastering.

I'm not really sure what you're referring to regarding the MIDI files, as those ones are about as accurate as they get (I've looked all over the place). vgmusic files tend to be fanmade and are generally full of errors and whatnot.

Feedback is still welcome.

Interesting; most of the MIDI files I get from there are top-notch, but I guess I'm just lucky with my game choice or something.

The tracks do sound pretty good quality wise. The only thing that's really taking away from them is some humanization like on the percussion and few other instruments. Also, mixing and mastering would help everything blend better, but you could probably get away without doing it.

Krow, I'm going to exaggerate a little to help you understand how meticulous this guy is trying to be with his MIDI's:

basically he wants the MIDI's to give you the same bloody checksum as the original game music

Ah, makes sense. That's silly though...
