MusicTechy
Mostly when I think of music creation software, sequencers are what comes to mind. Anyone know of any new or different software that allows production of music from another standpoint? Would be glad to try them out and broaden my knowledge of what's out there. I did come across this rather interesting interactive music game though. It's called SuperGroup, and it allows you to form your own band from the multitude of characters that are provided and then create your own original compositions. I played around with it and created several compositions using various band formations, such as an electric guitarist, electric bassist, flutist, and drummer. The band characters you can select and the music you can subsequently create are all really cool; definitely something I would recommend checking out. beta.supergroupmusic.com is the link. Apparently it's still in the beta stages, so felt like I discovered a hidden gem here.
Yoozer
Numerology: http://www.five12.com/n2.html Trackers: (sequencers but vertical) http://www.renoise.com/ Ableton Live's Session mode is pretty unique, too.
Skyline Drop
Numerology is certainly one of the most unique music creation paradigms I've ever come across. If 'something different' is your intention, it's difficult to beat that.

wahrk
Renoise is awesome. I've been using it for years. It's fast, powerful, intuitive, and the developers really listen to the community so it really makes progress in ways that reflect the desires of the people using it. I wholeheartedly recommend it. I wish I had a Mac so I could play with Numerology. It looks awesome.
