kirameku
the most frustrating thing sometimes is not coming up with the notes, but trying to find the right instrument to fit them! Am I right people? anyway a few months ago, my ex was playing with musicshake and made this song http://eng.musicshake.com/user/Sajo#!/song?pn=68553 and I noticed the name of one of the instruments... one that sort of carries out a decorative percussion throughout the "song" was called something like umm... an arpeggiated wind synth or something... I don't even know if I'm remembering it right. It sounds like no wind synth I've ever heard of lol... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSW1soX81co here is another song that uses What I THINK is the same instrument... in a manner that is more appropriate, anyway, what is this instrument!!! Can someone please tell me!! How can I emulate this on a synthesizer? I use the korg legacy collection vst's, the korg ds-10, just drop a name off the top of your head and I'm sure I'll figure it out... Hope to hear from someone soon~
Rozovian
I get something like this with a short noise-based sound with a high-resonance LP filter that opens and closes. It's not quite the same sound, but it should be close enough to achieve the same effect. An optional 30ms delay with some feedback adds some robotic flavor to it, if you want that.
