Zeroboros
I've already bought electri6ity (along with the evolve mutations bundle, and 3 other kontakt libraries which names escape me at the moment lol) and what I know so far is that its a beast when with guitar rig, but in order to fully be able to get a realistic feel for it, you'll have to give a lot of time to figure it ins and outs. Was checking out shreddage X the other day and as for its reputation, I can say its earned. was pondering if i should get shreddage since it seems a little simpler than Elec, but the vids ive been seeing with people using elec getting their sounds, its just all that more difficult Electri6ity So should i stick with electri6ity or go with Shreddage X? Nabeel Ansari
Shreddage and the Shreddage X expansion are rhythm guitar libraries. You won't get as expressive leads as you would with Electri6ity, at least from what I've heard of Electri6ity. As far as I've seen getting a good sound is really easy in Shreddage. Just draw your notes and change velocities for mutes and that's all there is to it. I'll let Zircon take it from here if he's reading this forum, he can probably tell you more. Zeroboros
Hope so. Was doing a remix on FF7's Weapon raid and the guitar sounds i had wasn't cutting it at all, even with guitar rig going through it( which by the way i make my own amps, so not to be to relient on factory presets), so i hope i can get an answer soon
SonicThHedgog
If you like solos try this,http://www.prominy.com/les.htm a bit expence but hay you get what you pay for and the only thing you need to worry about is being human. Recommend get a real guitarist, they will do you better.
zircon
Assuming you have the full version of Kontakt, Shreddage (+ X) will definitely help you get very realistic rhythm parts in no time. Plus you get nice free amp sim with custom presets, Peavey ReValver HPse, and you can upgrade to bigger versions at a nice discount! Just check these out to see the ease of use, and how HPse works: http://www.youtube.com/zirconst#p/u/6/Hzhv156GBn8 http://www.youtube.com/zirconst#p/u/0/03fbxV8X-As Electri6ity is great for leads, and it's a good idea to practice using it for that. However I think if you compare the rhythm features and demos side by side, Shreddage beats it, so having both is a good idea

I definitely agree that Electri6ity is great for leads as well, but since i haven't really had the time to really figure electri6ity out i won't get my hopes up. If it comes to it though im definitely going to buy both, since both have strong ponits on their own. throw em together though.........yup, im buying it lol:lmassoff:. 1 question though zircon, and this is hypothetically speaking. if you were going for an ambiance/pad feel at the intro of your song, would you use a pad, or layer strings with an appregiated synth? dynamitec
Hi guys, I found your thread about Electri6ity here (I'm the developer behind Electri6ity), that's why I wanted to chime in. I agree that Shreddage sounds great for rhythm. But anyway, Electri6ity can do ryhthm as well! I think the biggest difference is, that Shreddage was recorded having metal as main style in mind while Electri6ity is a multi purpose instrument that can be used for all kind of guitar styles. Essential for a good rhythm sound is a good amp sound however. I can recommend http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/website/software.html (TSE X30, which simulates an Engl 530 preamp and is freeware) in combination with the TSE 808 tube screamer (can also be found on that website) using the Cabinet simulation from http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/ with different cabinet impulses (cabinets have a big impact on the sound!) The good thing is that all those amps are freeware and beat most commerical plugins, especially in terms of realism. Those amps are definitely worth trying out! No matter if you'll end up using Electri6ity, Shreaddage or any other guitar library. Here are a few Electri6ity demos done by Javi Perera (who uses mostly freeware amps e.g. LeCTO which can be found here: http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/2011/02/lecto-au.html): http://www.benjaminstelzer.de/demo_new/Electri6ityDemoByJaviPereraMetalBalladeer_LeCTO_noTS.mp3 http://www.benjaminstelzer.de/demo_new/Electri6ityDemoByJaviPereraPeripherysLetterExperimentTest-ScoopedMastering.mp3 http://www.benjaminstelzer.de/demo_new/Electri6ityDemoByJaviPereraDarkness-ScoopedMastering.mp3 http://www.benjaminstelzer.de/demo_new/Electri6ityDemoByJaviPereraMathgrooveLe456_GR4.mp3 And this is how Electri6ity sounds in song context, with vocals and everything: http://soundcloud.com/javi-perera/javi-perera-npf Best, Benjamin PS: It definitely doesn't hurt having both libraries

Meteo Xavier
I sense a marketing battle brewing...zirc, you better brush up on your Guile. I can hear the CPS2 version playing now. Yeah, that was an asinine way to word it, but he did at least suggest t'aint' nothing wrong with having both (if you have that kind of money anyway). zircon
Actually I agree with everything he said about Electri6ity. Shreddage is in fact designed for rock/metal. You wouldn't get it if you want to do jazz, or expressive lead playing or complex chords. No hate.
