Here's my current set up laptop: http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15-n5030/pd interface: http://tascam.com/product/us-144mkii/ external hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148503&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Hard+Drives+-+External-_-Seagate-_-22148503 extra hardware/gear/stuff that use up my laptop's power: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665774418 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Belkin+-+4-Port+Swivel+USB+2.0+Hub/8557279.p?id=1188561456709&skuId=8557279&cmp=RMX&ref=06&loc=01&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=8557279 and a typical Targus chill mat (USB powered) but i can't find a link OS: Windows 7 64bit Main Programs frequently used: SONAR x1 (daw) Adobe cs5 Premiere and Aftereffects, Photoshop 7 google chrome this is what I'm choosing so far. not a computer person, i just know that more RAM and GB and a higher processor speed is "good." http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i5+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display+/+8GB+Memory+/+750GB+Hard+Drive+-+Dark+Umber/2678499.p?id=1218343867581&skuId=2678499 concerning why i'm not just considering a desktop? I'm intrigued by Prophetik's custom builds because apparently many people say he's the shit, but I'd like to stick with mobile, lap top recording for the next year or so (until I move into a better place with more room). Nabeel Ansari
Here you go: 1. Start here at Lenovo.com direct store 2. Select second from right-most model IdeaPad Y470 Laptop - 085525U - Dusk Black, click Customize & Buy button under it 3. Click Review, Add to cart 4. Apply coupon code USPY425922 during checkout (leave no space at the start/end) Don't get a 17.3" inch if you're concerned about portability. It's really big. Don't get a Dell either. The amount of bloatware they put on their computers is... well... bloaty.
