Advice about this guitar sound

This is untouched by effects but it's actually four guitars. Two panned left and two panned right. All playing the same riff. Without worrying about how I didn't really play the riff in perfect synchronization, I'd just like to know what you think of this general sound as a heavy metal distortion.

It sounds like there is a phase problem, like your using 2 or more mics or the tracking is not tight. Like there is a strong chorus effect.

The tone it self sounds noisy/hissy in the higher end and the tone it self sounds pretty flat.

but just my opinion.

The phasey thing is just because I recorded the same riff 4 separate times and didn't play it perfectly every time. Thank you for your feedback.

Could just be my work speakers, but it doesn't seem to cut as well as most metal sounds do.

- It might have too much gain, it's blurring the notes together instead of making sharp stabs.

- Try adjusting the presence up a bit more, or maybe the treble.

Playing around with eq - for my taste - less around 200 Hz, a tiny bit less around 580 - bump at around 1180 for more pick and a gritty compressor to work out the attack.

If you can alter the amp settings - less mids, a bit more presence and less distorion. The wall of sound comes with stacking - not distortion alone.

A good example here is Nickelback - before anybody yawns - yes they do your moms favourite kitchen tune rock thing nowadays - but still they sound fucking big/dense guitar wise with actually just stacking more crunched then really distorted sounds. I hope you know what I mean.

That's what EQ I used trying to clean it up a bit. It still has too much gain on it, but if you roll some of that gain off, drop the lows a bit and give it a slight treble and presence boost I think you'd be good to go.
