I like what you have so far. I'm not too familiar with the source, as I haven't played FFXI, but I think you have a good start. The intro has a nice, energetic feel - I'm impressed with the build-up.

Is that the melody that comes in at 1:13? It seems a bit separated from the intro, I wonder if there's a way to tie them in with each other a little more. Maybe adding some kind of foreshadowing of the melody in the key/chord structure of the intro?
