KGB525
Here is a new original Sega Genesis chiptune! I hope you enjoy it. This one's pretty darn funky.
Arceace
This sounds awesome, dude! Feels like it's strait out of a Sonic level. Are you doing all of this with samples? Or are you using a VST of some kind?
SuperiorX
Nice! I like this a lot! Definitely has a Sonic vibe! It sounds like Chemical Plant and Casino Night had a baby and this song is their lovechild
Jamphibious
I'm getting more of a Shinobi III vibe from this with the instrumentation and overall jazzy-ness (a good thing, I gosh darn love that soundtrack). Yeah how is this done? Is it a tracker? I've been learning a tracker called DefleMask myself for some Genesis chiptunes. Regardless the method, this is really great stuff. KGB525
Cool, thanks guys! Good call on the Sonic and Shinobi vibe. For this track, I used a combination of vsts (VOPM, Chipsounds) and ripped drum samples. Here is what I used: The bass and lead were VOPM, and from "Toxic Caves" from Sonic Spinball. The more 8-bit PSG instruments were done with Chipsounds. The drums were ripped from Cosmic Carnage, for the 32X. I'm glad you guys dig the track. I actually have made tons of Genesis chip tunes. It's one of my favorite types of game music to make!
