Live Sound Set-Up

Any live people in the house?

I'm recently being considered as an audio technician/engineer at Louisville's local IATSE union and am going to be talking to the Business Representative about my "specialized skills" at the beginning of next week. My training though, was more geared towards the mixing aspect of audio with a decent amount of recording session training.

Herein lies the problem, and here is where I hope you all can give me some help

I need any information I can find on the topic. Here are some examples:

-Terminology

-Speaker/mic placement (avoiding phase cancellation techniques and such)

-Equipment

-Pet Peeves

-Websites/articles

You can even discuss how you set-up your band and their PA or whatever.

If all else fells, use this as a general "Live Set-Up" thread.
