WiFiSunset
What experiences have people had with finding Album Artists for personal album projects? And what costs do you usually end up spending on them? Asking for in regards to my finished album Storm: (And yes I sometimes Stream and YouTube let's play lmao). Ramaniscence
Somewhat above average graphic design and hobbyist painter here: It costs somewhere between $5 to $200 depending on what you want and who you're willing to pay. Personally, I'd expect to pay between $30 and $60 if you're asking for just 1 picture that's not too complicated, but that's just what "feels right" for the return on investment to me. Others may say more or less. And before you ask: Unfortunately, I'm not available for the work right now.
Meteo Xavier
I'd always done my own album artwork, except for one re-issue, and I don't think I'd spent a penny on it yet. Use of places like snappygoat.com, which is my understanding that almost everything, if not more, is all public domain, use of some free online graphic editors, sometimes GIMP, a little elbow grease and a modicrum of taste can certainly do an indie album cover wonders without spending anything resembling coin. I recommend you try some of that. And before you ask: unfortunately, I'm not available for work right now. I have no indication you were ever going to ask me for work, but I'm putting it out there anyway.
Drawn by Dai
Having been the artist in this relationship many times, I'll tell you what my rates typically are: £20/$30 per hour. I'm a freelance professional artist and graphic designer of 10 years, so I like to think I have a relatively good nose for the going rates. Mine are considered to be on the cheaper end of fair in the professional sector. It can go up - especially in the city, or down with new graduates or students. but to be totally honest it depends on what you're willing to part with financially. And what kind of job you want EDIT: Additional - Just don't use sites like fiverr - they're killing the rest of us! Good luck on your quest.
