Competitors anonymously submit redone versions of game music based on a monthly theme and the entries are voted upon by the community. We just launched a Patreon to help us get some $$$ together so we can pay the visual artists who create our banner artwork each month. Once we reach a decent amount, we hope to put the excess money to use on other things in the future (More prizes? Licensed song releases? Physical compilations? Who knows!).
