Geoffrey Taucer
I've yet to find a bodhran VST I really like. BUT I've found by taking taiko samples (I used the ones from EW Goliath, but odds are any taikos would do) and adding a chorus and the right EQ (context-dependent), I can get something that fills the niche I'd want a bodhran to fill. Zanezooked
I subscribe to EastWest Composer Cloud. It's not free, but I get it with an education discount and find it to be very valuable for $10 a month. I quite like their EW Fantasy Orchestra bodhrán. You can hear it on this track: (Mixing and mastering isn't the best—I'm still learning—but the bodhrán should be pretty audible.) And also this track (where the mixing and mastering has improved, and also the bodhrán sits in a busier mix): So yeah, I'm pleased with their bodhrán! The subscription also includes a massive amount of other percussion, including Goliath as mentioned by Geoffrey Taucer, which if I remember is actually being used in the above track for the taikos and riqs. Master Mi
In Celtic Era 2 from Eduardo Tarilonte - one of my most appreciated VSTi developer - you have some really well-sampled Celtic instruments including the Irish bodhrán. It costs quite some money - but with the high-quality VSTis in this collection it's definitely an investment in your future as a composer: https://www.bestservice.com/en/celtic_era_2.html If you wanna listen to some specific instruments from Celtic Era 2 (in addition to that, the instruments from the first Celtic Era should be also included in the package), check out this link (bodhrán samples from around minute 10:35 to 12:50): I hope I was able to help you in this case. ))
