Broken
My streaming media. Whenever I click on a link, whereas it used to stream through Windows Media Player 10 (and not give me any trouble), now for some reason whenver I try to stream something it loads a Quicktime application (which takes much longer.) Now I tried going into Q-time's MIME settings (or whatever) and turning off all its file associations, so it wouldn't play things such as MP3's and the like, and I clicked apply, but the next time I went to listen to something, it would yet again play in Q-time. I'd check the mime settings and file associations again, and it would have reselected everything that I unselected earlier. This is driving me insane (b/c I'm too lazy to cut and paste urls) so any help would be appreciated.
CH
Uninstall Quicktime. Thats about the only way to make it stop doing this. As an alternative, you have Quicktime Alternative. http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm Incidentally, that also allows you to download streaming files such as HD trailers and whatnot. avaris
Yeah either unistall quicktime or reinstall Windows Media Player. Either one will fix it.
Broken
Hmmm, thanks for the feedback guys. I'm sure that would work, but unfortunately I lack administrative privileges on this laptop, darn it. Oh, well maybe it will magically fix itself just as it magically screwed itself up.
