Nicholestien Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I'm buying a computer from a friend, he hasn't used it yet. It's a Dell "xpc" or something like that and it's really fast. He's selling it to me for about 350$ but there is one problem. It came with windows vista. I was wondering if there will be any trouble transfering my RNS files, (reason) , my programs I use, Cool Edit, Etc. and anything else thats important. I just can't let this offer pass me. I have no choice. xD Quote
avaris Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 I've used Reason with Vista and it ran fine. It took a lil bit longer browsing through patches. I no longer use Vista anymore bc NI's stuff caused Vista to crash on my comp. As far as Cool Edit Pro I don't know. Check their website and forums to see what people are saying. Quote
Nicholestien Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 Is there any way of downgrading vista to XP? "completely succesfully ;D" Keep in mind that this computer i'm getting hasn't even been booted up once yet. Quote
avaris Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 If you have an XP disc you can. Simply put the XP disc, and wipe the the hard drive clean. Delete all partitions. Then you can install XP fresh from ground zero. Quote
sgx Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Ugh...Vista is so junky right now...programs have a lot of random issues, the OS is slow, takes a crapload of ram... Oh and I think it is ugly. This "shiny" design fad was played out last year. I haven't used Vista for music stuff yet, but at work I use a lot of photoshop, premiere, after effects and it is no fun Quote
