Diodes
How do you find out if a song was originally written for the video game? I am new to OCRemix and thinking about remixing one of Akira Yamaoka's songs from the Silent Hill games, such as "Waiting For You," "I Want Love," or "Your Rain." Any input on whether one of these would be valid remixes, or how I can find out if they would be, would be appreciated, thanks. -Amy
Liontamer
Hey Amy, good to see you around here! I actually wasn't aware that there was any ambiguity on whether some tracks from the Silent Hill series weren't originally created for the game. As far as I know, they're all good, but someone with more info would be appreciated.

Doulifée
"you're not here", "letter", "i want love" vocals are performed by Melissa Williamson, and composed and arranged by Akira Yamaoka. Hometown vocals is performed by Joe Romersa. That what i have from the OST CD booklet. EDIT: apparently it's the same girl. mcglynn/wiliamson. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0569479/ Look like exclusive song from silent hill. Liontamer
I'd say based on Yamaoka's Wikipedia entry that the soundtracks check out. They're all originally created for the games, so they're viable arrangement material. Looking forward to hearing your interpretations. Diodes
Thanks for all the info everyone! Yeah, I was just concerned because I saw this from the submission standards page: The music does have to be from a game, however - it can't be a bonus track off a commercial OST that wasn't actually in the game. And to be honest, I've never played the Silent Hill games, I just know the soundtrack. Well, looks like I can start work on this now .D
