Nacho Posted October 18, 2007 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Hey, practice makes perfect. I always play with a click track so I can stay on time with the song, even if there are no drums. Keep playing & keep practicing and eventually you'll start to put it together. My best recommendation is to learn different styles or find your own style before doing remixes. I had been playing in a band for years before I started doing things on my own. That experience was invaluable because it allows you get more creative, whether it is funk, rock, jazz, etc. Eventually you'll get curious about how chords work & before you know it, you'll be an advanced player! If you really did just get a guitar and already learned how to play that, then you are doing nicely. Keep on working at, you're off to a good start! Actually I've been messing around with my brother's acoustic for a while, so chords are kind of my backyard by now. Soloing is what I'm really struggling with... And I did play with a click track, and the guiitar itself is pretty much in time, it's just the fact that the "bass" (guitar shifted down an octave in FL) playing was very sloppy that makes the guitar seem off beat.
