    Creative soundcards have a "What u hear" function. Other brands MIGHT have somethign similar but I rnrdqa0t8teaeya
    Right, but he is talking about DOS games...

    Assuming that he is running Windows 2000 or XP, he won't get audio for DOS games.

    Best thing I can suggest you, boot in MS-DOS mode and record from the line output of your soundcard to a digital recorder, and then copy the recordings to your computer when in XP mode.

    A point about URLs.

    If you link to some page with the tags, keep in mind that you can't use extended characters in them. The most common example is the space, that needs to be replaced with a %20

    So, a link for "my name is Nineko.mp3", should be written like

    [url=http://something.lol/my%20name%20is%20Nineko.mp3]TEXT[/url]

    , where TEXT is the link you want to be displayed: TEXT.

    Other common values you should keep in mind:

    & = %26

    ' = %27

    ( = %28

    ) = %29

    These codes with the percent thing are (if you are interested) the hexadecimal value of the ASCII code of that character. The best part of that, is that it works with ANY character. While it's needed only with special characters, you can use it every time you want.

    So: http://%77%77%77%2E%6F%63%72%65%6D%69%78%2E%6F%72%67

    Stickies can be purged just like standard threads. No posts = death.

    Only announcements and active polls aren't pruned. That's why we can't post polls in unmod.

    Since we have some anime avatars, has anyone tried to do any Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya ones?

    I must warn you, however, that I'm not good at resizing pics from Animes, I'm more a sprite ripper, so these are probably going to be rejected.

    yeah, there are several ways to get around that, including a preventive check or a resize.
    but it's a moot point when talking about OCR and avatars
    yes, because the point isn't just the size, they want also to keep the quality on a very high level. that's why we're running a thread like this where people can contribute stuff. and I think it's good that there is this quality check. think about that, someone can use a 32x32 pic of djpretzel's penis as avatar, and it wouldn't be good.

    LT: Ha. No one would want to use the djpenix as an avatar. But yeah, allowing no custom avatars is all about quality control. Love it.

    Another point concerning original soundtracks...

    From djp's review on this remix:

    Speaking of .gbs files and chiptunes in general, we've been working on getting more of them directly available here on OCR; there's a dozen new RSNs for SNES games, we've switched our Genesis files from RGM (rar'd GYM) to zipped VGM, and we've added zipped VGMs for Sega Master System titles as well, where available.

    I'm really happy to read that, I've been bugging Larry about VGM files since a lot of time ago, so I must say a big "Nice Work" to you.

    Now please complete the work by adding the VGM files for the Game Gear games hosted on ocremix, being "Ecco 2: The Tides Of Time" and "Sonic The Hedgehog: Triple Trouble" ;)

    Both of them are available on SMSpower VGM music archive, that seems to be the source also for the Master System VGMs you recently uploaded. I would post direct links here, but I don't think that the guys on SMSpower would like that ;)

    Again, nice work with the SMS soundtracks, you made happy a lot of SEGA oldschool gamers. For sure, at least one ;)

    Oh ok I didn't see that post.

    Sorry about that, I posted about the tool because Qjimbo is developing a new version that works with Project Chaos so I thought to give him some spotlight here. I just beta tested the new tool and it's awesome.
