  1. This is sounding great! A few things though. The fastest blastbeats are super mechanical, there is no dynamic variation there. Check your MIDI data and work with the velocity and timing, fast kickdrum action like that never sounds clean like that. Strings sound a bit mechanical because of the attack but it's not a huge deal. Big issue is expanding this a bit and incorporating more parts of the source. The backing is so great that it wouldn't take much I think. Maybe with an organ, guitar lead or something?

This is a great start and I urge you to take it to the next level!

  2. The whole rock part of the track is very muffled and lacks clarity. Where did the high end go? What happened? Compare it to any rock production and you'll hear the big difference.

Arrangement is a great start but I would suggest cramming some more source in there just to keep it identifiable overall.

This needs some serious mix tweaking but I think you can pull it off! Compare to other mixers, maybe read up a bit or ask for feedback in the workshop and you'll be in much better shape. Keep it up!

  3. That's one nice groove right there. GROOVE BIAS! Like Vinnie so eloquently put it, there's source. It's not my favorite kind of arrangement when you heavily use one small part with a lot of original elements on it but I can't deny that it works and in this case there's a bit more that makes it comfortable for me to pass it.

The production part of the track was really cool even though I wish the kalimba (?) pattern would be a bit louder since it's the main source hook. The drums sounded really crisp and balanced but were a bit upfront for my tastes. Again, that's highly personal, overall the mix was great.

    Cool track, here's a YES

  4. Where did the title "Kirby Super Star Saga" come from? :D

This is one of my favorite tracks from Super Star and you did a good take on it. Keeping relatively close in terms of tempo and style but doing some clever little alterations of the lead lines and rhythms. Mixing-wise I wouldn't mind hearing some more low-end, it's like there's a high-pass filter on the entire mix, but all elements were crisp and clear. Even though there were many chiptune elements they were mixed up well with the new drums and modern synths.

Overall, good job and a good ReMix.

  5. Think up a proper title next time! :)

Some good playing here and interesting ideas. The intro was definitely a highlight because of the clarity and nice phrasing. You need to get some more mileage from the source though, expand the track and take it in some new directions.

The production needs some polish too, the heavier section actually sounds more quiet than the intro.. check your mixing and mastering, see if you can't get it to sound even but still with some headroom for the sounds so they're not squashed together. I know it's not an easy task but read up a bit on mixing/mastering, maybe that'll help?

Great start but we need a little more :)

  6. Did someone say "orgasmic moans"? I'm so here!

This is pretty loud, it's actually clipping a bit, easy on the levels and treble my friend! I insist on you fixing that before this goes live. Clipping isn't okay, make sure none of your channels distorts.

However, the track is great. Cool instrument choices, great arrangement etc. etc. Wish there was a bit more bass and a bit less treble but I can still get behind this.

    Keep up the great work!

    YES(conditional on clipping)

  7. Needs more source and less gay-hate.

Otherwise I actually really like this hahaha, would love to see a version that has more source and more creative arranging of said source. Also thought the "crunk'd" section was too loose. :)

I dunno man, you've got something here! Just make it a game music arrangement.

  8. While I personally wouldn't say the sounds are generic per say, they're not used very creatively. It sounds like you took a few different synth presets (that all occupy the same frequencies) and just went to town! The pulsating, heavily reverbed background synth sounds very out of place when everything else is super dry at the time.. Try really finding sounds that glues together and if they don't to being with, use EQ to cut away what isn't needed in the sound!

The arrangement isn't that great either, like OA said it was mechanical. Try taking things a bit further and making it flow better!

    Keep at it!

  9. From the top this sounds much like a sound upgrade and less like an arrangement. It's even the same tempo! Is it possible that you used the .mid as base here because it certainly sounds like it. Try really expanding on the source, adding your own counter-melodies, chords, rhythms etc. There are some high-points for sure but there's room for expansion.

The production is definitely quite stiff. All sequenced instruments are a bit rigid and the samples themselves aren't that spectacular either. Nothing that really sticks out like a sore thumb but it all sounds very basic and thin. The mixing is a bit uneven too, the bass is especially overpowering and guitar quite low in volume.

Keep working on evolving this track both texturally and arrangement-wise and you'll be in better shape! :)

  10. If Zubareus is both your remixer name and remix name, change that. :)

Performance here is nice and the arrangement is pretty good as has been pointed out. The production, on the other hand, isn't quite there yet. Your guitars sound a bit muffled (lead especially) and the drums are pretty weak, especially considering what you're going for. The kick drum, while weak sample-wise, is quite overpowering. Try to get some more punch but make sure not everything ducks every time it hits!

This needs some more work before I could comfortably pass it but it's not far from there. Keep at it!

  11. I've heard this a few times from WAY early stages. Arrangement has always been really strong and still is. Production is much better since last I heard it but still not all the way there. To me the orchestral elements sounded really stiff and dry but the guitar and drums made up for it in general.

In the end the strong arrangement keeps this afloat, great job!

    YES

  12. Yeah, overall this is pretty good! Bass has got some issues, if you listen to it you realize it's only overpowering when it's playing certain notes. Check out the resonance on the filter, right now it might be peaking at certain frequencies which makes it uneven. Try compressing it a bit to even it out! It also annoys me personally that it's so wide but that's more personal preference.

Work a bit more on the arrangement, like has been said the ending could use some work. I think the strings in the ending doesn't sound that good, quite fake, which I guess is no big deal but the rest of the track is pretty strong in the sound department so I would consider finishing it off on a strong note :)

Not a long way to go mate, hope to see a resub soon.
