  1. I dunno if I'll actually work this up to be a proper submission to the site, but it was fun to make anyway.

Breakdown: Classical guitar, whistling, trumpet mouthpiece, and sarcastic comment all recorded with an SM-57 via a Line6 TonePort into FL Studio 8.

http://www.myspace.com/mistermarcellis (It's the only song up as of yet. Finally, I set one of these up.)

...I almost did a harmonica solo, despite the fact that I can't play the harmonica. I might just do it anyway.

  2. Yeah, I've still got all the sprites I made. I'd be willing to make the rest of the sprites, if we're really gonna see this through. I can even save them out in strips, if you need, SymBiotiX. I'd be stoked to see this thing done. Eight whole bosses (and levels) is a lot to ask, though--not that it wouldn't kick ass.

Anyway, I'm definitely in for finishing at least what we started.

  3. Wingless, Coop, Bean, and I (am I forgetting anyone?) are making it in Flash, using various other softwares. The plan, as I recall, was to do one boss fight, because that's all some of us can make time for.

  4. Thanks Bean. Nice work on the beach-going Tans, by the way.

Next, I'll probably do the damage anim, since it's pretty much almost done already, what with the rocking-out NiceShot anim existing and all. (Unless there was something I said I'd do a few pages back that was needed that I forgot about...) Anyway, I'll see if I can't get that done before I go on vacation this weekend/next week.

  5. Yeah...I still want to finish it, but I'm lame and get distracted easily. The on-model walk is maybe 30 minutes away from being done, by the way. :P

Sorry for pretty much single-handedly halting production, everyone. :(

  6. I don't deserve to work in the same field as these animators. But darn if I'm not going to try anyway.

Isn't that every animators dream? I know it's mine. Man, just to visit would be--I've never been to Disneyland, but if given the choice between that and just a visit to Pixar, I'd choose Pixar.

  7. Wow, you guys liked the message? I couldn't stand the heavy-handed hippie nonsense. But doggone, the character development between Wall-E and Eve was phenomenal. I had no qualms believing that these robots were in love. And the twist at the end (replacement chip -> lost memory) was totally believable. I loved every minute those two were on screen, and I left the theater feeling like I'd just made two new friends. But Toy Story is still my favorite.

Presto, however...just wow. It's perfect. I'll just say it. It's perfect. I'd go again, just to see Presto. Just like they used to make back at Termite Terrace. I geeked. Hard.

  8. Wow, there are a lot of musicians here. :<

    Look what I can do!

Trumpet: Started playing in 1996 for school, played through 2002 in my punk-ska cover band, and haven't played it much since. I can still remember some stuff, but my chops sure ain't what they used to be. :(

Guitars: been playing in my spare moments for 6 or so years. I bought a classical last year, and it's been stealing quite a bit of thunder. I have an electric, but I don't play it much, which is kinda dumb because it's old-ish and cool looking, and I'd probably get all the ladies if I learned to play it right.

Bass: Played on and off for about 5 years. Picked up again recently, much to my enjoyment.

Cajon: A buddy of mine picked one up a few months ago, and I've been playing it, and it's awesome--once I learned how to not beat the crap out of my hands while playing it.

Drums: I can do it if I try. :D I've been playing on my knees for years.

Piano: I wish. Maybe I'll look up that link Malcos posted...

  9. Saw it today. I'll admit that I'm a Pixar (especially Brad Bird) fanboy, and I've never been very impressed, if at all, with anything Dreamworks has done in 3D since Shrek 1.

That said, I will definitely be buying this when it comes out DVD or BR (depending), and will seriously consider purchasing the art-of book. And holy crap, that intro was awesome (except the lip sync, but that's me being a picky animator).

...by the way, this may be of general interest (scroll down for the goodies). :D

  10. Yeah, Vegas isn't really a "secret project" anymore. :P

I guess I'll sum up the games I've worked on as well:

    This is Vegas

Area 51: Blacksite (kind of, but not really--it's a bit complicated)

    Infamous

  11. Indeed. After a look at your website, it seems you had a hand in just about all of Midway's big titles as of late. I got to work briefly on Blacksite, but only very briefly. Did some cool animation, though.
