  1. As opposed to the Were-Zombie Pirates, Fish People, Flat Earth, Frenchmen who can actually fight, Submarine with gattling cannons, Compass that points to rum, and those two idiot pirates actually surviving to the end? I think Calypso's one of the more believable plot elements.

Spoiler: The whole Calypso element was just kind of thrown in there, and the part about the first pirate lords sealing her into human form made it even more obscure. Admittingly, the other plot elements were obscure on their own, but this made an already bad plotline even worse.

  2. How anyone can think this movie was excellent is beyond me, unless they're a fangirl who squeals every time Jack Sparrow appears on screen. The only part I liked was the huge fight in the end, other than that the storyline was awful.

    Spoilers:

Now there's Greek goddesses being sealed by "pirate lords"? You've got to be kidding me.

  3. Yeah, I don't have much faith in SE anymore, either. All they really seem to care about anymore is making as many games as possible, usually of poor quality. The spin-offs are probably the worst... Dirge of Cerberus was horrible, I couldn't believe Square released something so terrible. I miss the days of Squaresoft.

The only thing I'm keeping an eye out for from SE is a port of FFVII. They've already ported the first 6 games, so we should be hearing about a FFVII port soon.

  4. Blue Ray has been making some strong strides against HD-DVD (I can't recall the last time I saw an HD-DVD commercial) and the PS3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray player around.

Yes, that's nice and all, but the main reason people are buying the PS3 is for the games (or for the first few months, making a profit on eBay).

  5. I'd really like to see it on the Wii, even if the graphics aren't as good. As much as I've enjoyed the PS1 and PS2, the price tag on the PS3 is just unreasonable to me.

Square Enix's new trend is that Final Fantasy games come in series.

Indeed, and the quality suffers quite a bit for it. This makes me quite sad.

  6. I was then reminded of DBZ Sagas, that's when it occurred to me; most of you fans only like this series not cause of the game play or story, but because of the rapable fluffy characters...

I kind of doubt it. I didn't really care much for the story in any of the games, I just really had a lot of fun with the battle system. That was probably because I've grown tired of turn-based RPG's and needed something different.

  7. Man, Square Enix always makes the coolest trailers. It doesn't look anything like the previous Kingdom Hearts games, though... I'm not sure where they're going to go with the story, either. The story in KHII felt kind of forced, since you typically found yourself back in worlds that you had already been to in the first game and Chain of Memories. I loved the battle system in KHII, though.
