  1. this will get you into EVE, wingless :D

    or it should!

Wowowowow. I thought I had devoured every EVE media around, and when I saw this new HD EVE video on youtube, I thought, "Oh damn, how could I have missed this?", then I realised, it's an official one, from CCP. Pre-buffering it now on YouTube.

    Can't. Wait.

Edit: That was pretty cool. Not utterly epic, but did its job well. Something that I could actually show to friends and not have them still baffled as to what I showed them (e.g. Day of Darkness videos). The production values gone into the video were top notch (like that close up on the rifter and the associated scenes, phwoar). Great job CCP.

  2. Been waiting to get a PS3 for a while now, so if this one comes with cool new features, but more importantly, a price drop, then I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

For some reason I don't think it would have a price drop, but oh well.

  3. In many ways Quake Wars mirrors if not improved a bit on the original ET game... Instead of Allies vs Axis its humans vs Strogg...

Yeah I'm an ETQW player too :P

Though thought I would mention RtcW/ET since it would probably be better if Wolfenstein is more reminiscent of ET style gameplay, rather than ETQW (i.e. more inf based, without the vehicles). Oh gahd please no vehicles.

  4. They have an entire team dedicated to going through the dictionary. And internet memes were among the first things they added.

Oh. Alright, you've sold me there. (sort of). Of course the dictionary won't include everything imaginable (including objects with two words), but, if they included internet memes I guess that's a +1 to them in my books. And the fact that they were dedicated enough to go through a dictionary to draw/code that into the game.

  5. Wait, what are the limitations of this game?

I'm just skeptical that it claims that "you can draw anything and WE'VE GOT IT!!!!!!". What if I want to draw something normal like a unicycle, but it doesn't have it? But it's got "moon" and "time machine", why would it have something relatively straightforward like unicycle.

Clearly I don't know the game well enough, I just saw like that short clip, but yeah. My first impressions.

  6. In case you're thinking of not clicking, I should probably inform you that almost all of the music on that site is free. :D

Oh BUGGER ME! I went to the site to check out their music, expecting to stream it etc, and to check it out. (listening to Twilight Rx via youtube atm).

Then I just read that you could get it for free.

    Thank you. Very much.

  7. Some quick food for thought:

    Hypothetical situation:

So, three months back, I felt like buying L4D, because all my mates were playing it. It was a steep asking price, but, I thought, ah heck, it's worth the investment - multiplayer games have good lifespan right? To further cement my faith in my decision, I would think back on support of TF2 and CS:S. (However, this would not be the main reason for my decision).

So I would go out and buy the game.

Anyhow, being the busy university student that I am, I had little time play it with my friends. A few nights here and there a month ago. But fear not, I'd have more time at the end of the year.

Now, only THREE months down the track, and what's this? A SEQUEL ALREADY? And to think I just bought the full priced game?

Now my friends (and of course, a large portion of the community) have moved onto L4D2. Now, I'm stuck, with a product that will become increasingly obsolete from November 17th, which is less than a mere year of when I bought the first one for full price.

Hell no. I'm not being sucked into buying L4D again, so soon.

    ---

In reality? I never bought L4D. But I may as well have. But I sure as hell DAMN GLAD I did not buy it.

Reasoning? I didn't feel like the game was worth it. I had played a number of times at LAN, and even gave it a shot for the free weekend, but it didn't feel like it was worth the full $50 for the price of admission.

Now I just feel sorry for all those people who did drop $50 on this game.

    ---

Edit: Another perspective on things: I am a University student studying full-time, but I am not cash-strapped. I recently dropped $40 on the special-edition pre-order of Natural Selection 2, whereas I could have simply waited for the game to come out, or opted for the standard edition, which is HALF THE COST. Nonetheless, I believed that it was worth supporting the independent developers of NS2, and the perks were a welcome bonus.

Being forced to purchase L4D2? Yeah, that's not a welcome bonus.

  8. I wet myself when the music played.

Unfortunately it's on the DS. Although, I might ask my brother (who lives overseas) if I could "borrow" his DS just for this. He rarely plays it anyway.

I think I have to comment on the graphics as well - one of the most awesome things about GS1&2 was their extraordinary graphics on a GBA. It almost feels like a downgrade, now that they've moved onto 3D. I would probably have much preferred it if it stayed isometric, but oh well.

As long as Motoi Sakuraba is doing the music, I'm happy.

  9. Zomgfavouritesgrah!!

lol that's what I thought. Then I saw the OP.

    Anyway,

    1. Wall-E

    2. Cars

    3. Nemo

    4. A Bug's Life

    5. Toy Story

Only ones there I haven't seen are Ratatoulle or however you spell it, and UP. Although I highly doubt anything will budge Wall-E and Cars off their perch as my two favourites.

I'm REALLY surprised that Wall-E is only fifth in the Moviefone list.

    Okay enough of my opinion.

  10. You know its actually been a full month since anyone anywhere has agreed with me? This made my day. :)

I disagree - paper is insecure - <conspiracy> the government has top secret ink recognition devices in all the paper of the western world, that's where all the tax dollars go!</conspiracy>. Yeah, much better with trusting a relatively unknown, humble website on the internet with access to your whole identity, across the internet.

  11. I generally have 'categories' of passwords I have for different websites. e.g. all random internet sites and forums are one password, most of my game logins are another unique password, etc etc.

What's damn annoying is that, it's come to a stage where, certain website either requires greater than 8 characters (whereas my usual password is only 7 characters), some websites FORCE you to use numbers, capitalisations, or don't allow you to use symbols, and it just becomes a mess.

It's a serious headache now that I have variations of all my passwords, with 'random' capitilisations and numbers, it's harder to come up with universal passwords that I used to have in the past. Bah.

But yeah, if worse comes to worse, I still don't think I'd rely on something like OpenID. At the very least I'd come up with my own list that I'd store in my primary e-mail account or something.
