  1. I currently do not have permissions to post attachments, but if you need a copy of the module for the second Oriental stage, I can email it to whomever might want to remix it. The tune itself sounds a bit like The Vapors' classic hit "Turning Japanese", so there's a bit of inspiration right there. I suppose you could toss in some lyrics about ketchup, given it being a game about tomatoes.

  2. I don't know why, but whenever I hear Rock Garden, I keep thinking of the post-fight analysis newsroom report from One Must Fall 2097. Probably because the song is accompanied by a news report, except its about the theft of beer shipments or something, it's been a while since I've played. Anyway, can we get a remix with some sound bytes from Morbo the Annihilator and Linda?

  3. So, what were you thinking? Metal? Rock? Jazz? J-Pop? Comedy? Klingon Opera? KF

Anything but alternative rock. I hate that crap. Actually, I was thinking something like the Doobie Brothers or Creedence, something that would have inspired Bobby Prince, who would have grown up with these bands, when he penned these tunes.

  4. You guys are STILL talking about continuation stuff?

If you're gonna spectate, keep your mouth shut.

My point is that a sequel is by it's very nature a spin-off, but a spin-off isn't necessarily a sequel. It's like the Star Trek movies. Every movie after "The Motion Picture" is considered a "sequel" but they don't all arc over one storyline, with the exception of the end of Wrath of Kahn and the beginning of Search for Spock, but that's about it.

  5. Believe it or not, there's a compound out that outperforms AS5, and it's called Tuniq TX-3. It's less a grease and more a gummy substance, and thus more difficult to apply (you'll need something like a credit card or your driver's license to spread it about, and it takes a steady hand, about an hour, etc etc), but once you get it on, it's awesome. It's non-conductive, so if you "colour outside the lines" so to speak, it won't hurt, but it's still a good idea to clean up. It's specifically designed for Direct Touch type sinks, like the Sunbeam Core or the Prolimatech Megahalems (I use the Xigmatek THOR'S HAMMER [Yes, the package has it in all caps]), and has an easier time filling in the gaps and stuff. Another good sink is the Ultra Chilltec.

    [EDIT]

Apparently, Tuniq just released TX-4, which has all the benefits of TX-3, but cools all of a whole degree cooler than the it's predecessor.

  6. Just because it's in the same continuity doesn't not make it a spinoff.

Joey is a spin-off of Friends, and yet it still takes place in the same universe

Likewise, X, Zero, Legends, etc are all spinoffs of the original series.

I don't even know how this argument happened. predcon got his terms mixed up and I just pointed out that MM7 is not a spinoff.

You just pointed out how I DIDN'T get my "terms mixed up". In the strictest sense of the word, and after splitting many hairs, isn't a sequel in itself a spin-off? In fact, sometimes a sequel has nothing to do with the game before it, like Far Cry and Far Cry 2. Where was Mr. Carver in the "sequel"?

  7. Okay, you guys went TOTALLY off topic. If you wanna debate the legitimacy of the canonocity of the various Mega Man games, start your own thread about it. All I asked was if the two tunes mentioned were the same because I hadn't hear the one in a while and the other struck me with deja vu when I heard it.

I humbly submit a request that someone close this thread immediately before it blows out of proportion.

  8. I haven't played MegaMan X4 recently, but I vaguely recall the credits theme, and I just started playing a copy of Demon's Crest I picked up in a bargain bin, and as soon as I heard the seventh or eighth bar of the first level's (the first REAL level, after the scripted intro fight against the zombie dragon) theme, I was like "Whoa, deja vu!" I'm sure there are Capcom experts (read: fanboys/fangirls) out there that could give me the title of aforementioned themes, and that's kinda what I'm asking for, confirmation that these two are the same theme. It wouldn't be the first time that a Mega Man spin-off has crossed over with a Ghosts 'n Goblins spin-off (for the uninitiated, I refer to the alternate theme to Shade Man's stage in Mega Man 7).

  9. It might be a tad bit obscure, but the Lemmings game series is a real shiner. And the music, even if taken from PD sources, was toe-tapping on it's own.

I put forth a motion that a Lemmings/2/3/Xmas/Whatever Album be organized.
