Hey Rozovian, I just came across your Free AU guide, and I thought I'd point you to The Fish Fillets package. I currently use the VST versions myself, but they also have AU versions. It's a package of a compressor (which is one of my three go-to compressors), a noise gate (my go-to gate), and a de-esser (my go-to solution for that as well). The plugins are fairly simplistic, controls-wise, but they do have stuff under the hood to tinker with.
