  1. The speed of composition depends on how used you are to the Intuos 3, as well as how well your mouse works. Intuos tablets are awesome and can navigate a screen really easily. Although they're actually for art, they can be used for pretty much anything. You could also bind the shortcut buttons on the tablet to work as certain keys or key combinations for faster use of shortcuts in your DAW or otherwise. So the tablet would most likely make composition faster. Maybe 1.5 - 2.5x faster than normal.
  2. I'd recommend Studio Drums by Native Instruments. http://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=studiodrums (Description) https://www.native-instruments.com/index.php?id=shopdetail&prid=632 (Order Page) If you're willing to shell out around $120, I'd say go with this. It'd DEFINITELY be a good alternative to your sample CDs. Or not. What do I know, eh? But like some others have said, Addictive Drums, EZDrummer, StormDrum, or Drumkit from Hell are GREAT too.
  3. Thanks a lot. I suppose that was one of the things that I hadn't tried.
  4. I feel embarrassed just posting this... Anyways... I just recently got Cubase as a gift from a friend who didn't like it. Boy, must be my lucky day, eh?*Sarcasm* I've started to catch on a bit... But there is ONE thing that I cannot figure out, and I NEED help with. I've got a MIDI track that already has a VST instrument as its output and everything. What my problem is that when I try to record the sound to an audio track, nothing gets recorded, so I'm stuck with a bunch of blank WAV files. Now, I'm pretty new to the whole "recording to audio" thing. For the three-fourths of a year I've been doing my own stuff, I haven't recorded a single thing to an audio track, so I'm lost. I've read a couple books, scoured the Internet for tutorials, and a bunch of other stuff. Also, for the record, I don't have a MIDI keyboard. Sooo.... What I'd like to know is: Am I doing something wrong? How do I record an audio track from a MIDI track? I've looked around for a week trying to find how to do this but to no avail. Does anyone know how to do this?
  5. Hey everyone, your newest member here, (Well, maybe for like 5 seconds more) Infiniti. No, I did not intentionally name myself after a car. I've been doing my own music for almost a year now. Come February, it'll be a year. I think I'm most likely one of the youngest people here. Anyone younger than 14?*Laughs* Anyways, I also go around as MegaFreak2(MF2) but not here. Wish me luck getting used to the forum!(Why are the older posts on the later pages anyways?) And as usual, when I post my first message in a forum: COOKIES FOR EVERYONE!*Throws "cookies" everywhere*
