  1. Wasted some more time on it trying to make it less boring and more varied.
  2. Oh I'm gonna screw it allright..screw this whole remix, if I'm the only1 who likes it the way I'm taking it, then there's no point spending another second on it. It would never get through the judgement anyway.
  3. Thx for the advices guys. Hopefully I'll get much better when (or rather if) I work on my future works. So I tried to ignore the mixing for a while and go on with the arranging/composing. It might be a bit lame, but here's what I came up with so far:
  4. Heh, thx. Yeah I reduced the kick of the drums so it should be okay now. As far as I know I didn't change the hi-hat, maybe it's just coz there's a bass there too now. I'm thinking that I should make the bass and the drums (but rather the drums) a bit louder. I know you said that the bass could be a bit louder, but dunno about the drum. Think that's a good idea?
  5. Thx for the support guys. Dunno if I'll try to work on original stuff to practice, since I can't really compose new stuff, perhaps only add to already existing tunes. But gonna try anyway I think when I have more free time. About this song, I've put in a bass taking evktalo's advice. Tried to keep it simple but not too boring. I think it turned out good, maybe needs a little fiddling with the volume..tho the bass shouldn't really 'stick out' from the other instruments: It's only the source part this time coz I think the middle needs a lot of work. Perhaps the drums could be a bit louder, imo you can barely hear them at some parts. EDIT: Btw, think I should mention that I listen all music on headphones, so I'm also adjusting this song to this 'listening felling' so to speak. Meaning that it may sound noticeably different on speakers.
  6. Heh, thx dude. That middle part is giving me the most trouble..looks like you can't learn creativity to compose music. =/ I'll try to mess around with the bass anyway. After 1:04, the bass ends, at least the one that went on previously. Lately I tried to solve the hihat problem and make the drums a bit more varied. Think I added too much kick to it when the source tune comes in..I'll have to lower it a little. And about the bass, I have no idea what would go well in that section. =/
  7. Tried to solve the dissonance problem (tho I think I failed at it..) by changing the synth's tune and also tried to fix some problems that were pointed out before like the loud synth and other instruments plus 'seperating' the instruments a bit with panning. Some areas still needs adjusting tho regarding volume issues. Furthermore I guess I should explain why I made it like this coz evktalo he didn't really get why some part of it was like that: With the song dieing out after the intro and with the splash I was aiming for a feeling that Sonic falls from the bridge that's under construction (hence the remix name) into the water. The short part after that resembles an underwater feeling, then comes my own crappy part with the suspense that was meant to make you feel Sonic's running out of air. The last jump, splash and gasp means that he gets out of the water and continues the stage. It probably sounds stupid, but meh.. EDIT: Made a few minor changes.
  8. It's the Bridge Zone music from the Sega Master System Sonic 1. You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-fcdnk9tVA&feature=related
  9. I worked on the transition and minor stuffs, but don't want to bore you this time with the details. Just wanna point out that when DarkPhantron said that the synth sounded too serious for him I decided to make a more serious part in it thus changing the transition a bit, tho I want to keep it 'joyful, happy and energetic' in overall. Dunno if it turned out okay or just made it worse, so you tell me. But I think I need to change the synth's tune in the transition, coz it doesn't fit in now.
  10. Hmm, well dunno, I think the synth is okay. Nobody else said they would change it (or I have big problems understanding others..). I don't think it's that loud either. I also have lots of songs and mine doesn't seem louder than those, or maybe just a very slightly. My problem is rather the instruments' volume compared to each other..they need better mixing. But thx for your opinion, maybe I'll turn the volume down a little after all.
  11. Probably a few people already asked this, but I'll ask anyway: how do some ppl make good sounding metal/rock guitars in their songs? I mean is there a good plugin for fruity loops that can play those kind of guitars? I got a few but those sound pretty lame. I also got one called 'Liquid Guitar' that was said to be pretty cool. Does any1 knows if it is good and useable? It has a lot of good quality 'samples' but using them sounds pretty tough to me. (Sry for the stupid question, but this has been buging me the most.)
  12. Ok, I think you know which one you mean. The mixing in that version was a bit off for some reason, and I think that's 1 reason it sounds a bit too loud, but I'll lower it a bit in the future then. Good to know some1 else likes it too besides me, lol. Tho it would be cool if others would tell their opinions too.
  13. Thx again for the advices. Yeah I know the pause is too long, I pointed that out. It's because I wanted to bring in an ambient instrument before the other ones but couldn't find one yet that goes well there. I'm also aware that it needs more instrument there, perhaps bring in the ones that are in the original tune. The transition between the new part and the original is rough and without warniing, I know, I was also thinking of doing something with the drums. I don't quite know what you mean by the bass, since last time you said there isn't any bass at all in the song. And like I said, the mixing is kinda strange, dunno why, the program changed it slightly but I dunno why. An ending is still needed too, I know If you find it a funny remix I assume you like it, despite it's flaws and it being unfinished, especially since you said you find the source tune annoying. My aim is to make it a joyful, happy and energetic song. Since this song is not too often remixed, I think ppl can't say it's overdone like Ice Cap for example.
  14. Lol, no problem I guess. But don't tell me that you had the most fun when you worked on that bridge zone remix..kinda hard to believe. XD
  15. I know said I quit on remixing, but I never really keep promises like that so I continued to try and finish at least this 1 remix that I started. So here's what I got so far: Still very far from perfect and complete, I know. I made an intro for it (well, I tried). I know that the gap there is too long coz I wanted to bring in an ambient instrument before the others but couldn't find one that goes well with the others yet, and that I also have to bring in the other instruments too, but at least I got the idea of the transition and the intro. The mixing needs work too, but for some reason Fruity Loops changes it a bit when I export the whole song..seems fine when I export in pattern mode..there's still no real ending and that note sliding is very bad at the end, but at least I figured out how to use that feature. I tried to make it a bit more varied and add some new stuff to it. So anyway, I'm open for advices and opinions again and hope that some ppl will like this remix thingy.
  16. Thx for the advices, but I think I quit on remixing, it's too time-consuming and meticulous, not to mention it will never turn out perfect anyway. And I can't compose new parts for it either, I don't have talent for that. Tried to come up with something for days but got nothing. It all started with just messing around anyway. It was kinda fun, but I don't have what it takes to do this kind of stuff.
  17. Well, worked some more on it, at least instrument and effect-wise and decided to turn it fully into an electronic style song, at least in my opinion it's in that style. I think it got pretty original and the instruments go quite well with eachother, but if you think otherwise, let me know. I also changed the title. I know that I still hadn't made any progress regarding new tunes and melodies so please don't point that out, but I wanted to get the instruments and effects done first so I won't have any problems with that in the future, and because I have no ideas yet. I don't really want to make it from 2 songs by adding Green Hill Zone but if I won't have any other ideas, I might give it a try. So anyway, let me know what you guys think. I personally like how it sounds now and don't really want to change on it. EDIT: Made a few minor edits in the notes, next I want to make an intro and own parts in it, but so far no good ideas yet. Strangely tindeck says it's 1:42 long which is not true..weird.
  18. Hmmm, worked fine for for me, and it says it has 9 downloads in total, so I assume it worked for others too. But ok, I won't use spaces in the file names in the future.
  19. Lol, funny, but you are right, I can hear some similarity between the 2 tunes too. Interesting remix so far btw, not really my taste, but I like it.
  20. Worked some more on the drums and tried to give it a little bass, tho the instrument that's going on in the background during the chorus will be changed coz I don't like it. I think I'm getting close regarding the drums. I also came up with a new title for it, dunno if it suits the song tho.
  21. Heh, thx. I may not know much about remixing yet, but at least I know what sounds good for me. And I am planing on adding a bass. Lol, okay, can't wait to hear it if you do.
  22. Thx, I'll check those tips out and try to get the drums right, among other things.
  23. Edited the drums a little and tried to add a little bass to it, as well added a very little edited chorus versions:
