  1. Hey y'all.

I am getting a bit stir-crazy over here and want to get back to more mixing. I have tracks in the works but I need to think more monetar(il)y for the future.

I'm starting here. I'd like to offer people here to send me one of their works to mix (and probably master too) for free. You can hear my works I've mixed www.audiofidelityproductions.com. I work in variety of styles. I may even opt to help with samples and synthesis if I feel it will really help.

You could send me files through Gobbler, or whatever works for you. I would ask that you give me a variety of options to process and work with your tracks. Unless a track is absolutely dependent on a delay, distortion, eq, or reverb for part of the integral sound design of the part, in which case keep it on and send me both. But I'm wanting tracks to be dry so I can have more options.

If you're interested in hearing your work in a new light please message me privately here or on my website which I will receive directly. This is for friends and strangers alike. This doesn't have to be OC Remixes but can certainly be original works.

    please include in your message:

    - the current version of your complete track (mp3 is fine)

    - information about the track and your vision for it

    - information about yourself as an artist (your intention, sound, and influences)

    - reference material: cited tracks/artists you're hearing in your track

    - technical info: DAW, any specific softsynths used. sample and bit rate

I can take sessions directly from Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, and Cubase. But all I really need is the raw waveforms. You can see from my gear page any softsynths and plugins that will translate.

I'm not sure what kind of response I will get here. I have a bit of time on my hands and can work on tracks pretty quickly, but I may have to opt to decline tracks that I think need further improvement or you may have to wait a little bit for me to get to you. I promise not to leave anyone hanging but please keep in mind this is a free service I'm offering. Thanks! I hope I get some takers! :)!!

  2. DJP, I haven't gone through and read all your comments but regarding this one, how can you not agree that art can "be better" and serve to transcend us past such, well put, lazy storytelling that degrades women and elevates the ego and violence of men? We should demand better and not help fund this line of storytelling. I don't play many of the games she mentions here but agree and often find myself at odds trying to get into the real life issues of many contemporary dramas that hark messages like this because they are removed from reality and not something I am willing to buy in to.

I believe games can transcend and become art. A scribble isn't art. By accepting, we say it is ok and lower our own moral ground. We have a long way to keep reaching and I believe in these times we have already lost a lot of ground while spreading ourselves thin. Think: what do we offer in excahnge for our technology, comfort, and sense of immediancy. It's all part of the process, so I am not bothered but I also know what side I am on too.

  3. Okay so I am 40 hours into this game. Love the gameplay and expansive world. I could absolutely care less about the individual characters. The story is average to above average but the pace is really slow. Probably just gonna stop playing and play something else. I can't imagine devoting another 40hrs to beat the game with this set of characters and the slow pacing of the story. In the story I have been on the foot of the mechonis for awhile. I am level 55.

Anyone share or shared the same sentiments?

Shaun, it's worth it to persevere for the story. The next set of events is really neat. It took awhile for the characters to grow on me as the development is slow. But that's it's charm too. I was already much hooked by the time of getting where you are now so if you find it terribly dreadful then maybe another game would be better for you. But I will say that the pace changes so it won't be much of the same. Don't expect the same amount of time moving up the Bionis.

  4. The "Secret of Evermore" track is absolutely out of this world. It is my favorite track to come out of OCReMix in as long as I can remember. You didn't mess with the melody much, the parts are all excellently recorded, the arrangement is faithful, yet original, and the execution is flawless. Super amazing fantastic work.

Wow, thank you. Mustin. I'm flattered to hear that from you with how long you've been a part of the community.

If you would like to ever collab on another project like HvsV, please let me know.

  5. Geez guys! Give it a chance to grow on you! All good music should. Especially in the paradigm we're in with a hyped release like this!

edit: Also...take a note this certainly aren't the finished masters. From the buzz at the end of the first track...someone definitely ripped these analog. So the real stuff will be that much sweeter.

  6. The feel-good hit of the year!

Brought a big smile to my face listening. I especially got a kick out of the synth brass swells that came in on the first turnaround.

The reggae bit with the spacey guitar reminded me of Major Lazer "Get Free" (which was one of my fav tracks last year.

The only thing you're missing is live bass! Ha

  7. To answer your question, Jay (hi!):

I wrote/spoke about this on my Kickstarter page, but basically I've had very frequent dreams of tsunami since a young age. I don't know why my subconscious keeps going back to this imagery, but it felt like time to find out its significance in my life.

The legend of Atlantis was a perfect fit because Plato wrote that the civilization was "swallowed by the sea in a single day and night." The tsunami and all the mysteries surrounding it serve as an extended metaphor for my own personal search for truth. And as an added benefit, the story lends itself well to New Age/World music because earthy and watery imagery can be conjured through choices in instrumentation and composition.

Wow, Jill! (hello :) ) That's fascinating - especially the connection with the dreams.

I'm very interested in ancient civilizations. It sounds like you've done a bit of study. I have read about many awesome and terrifying (being their demise) articles surrounding their mythos. If you have any sources to reccommended, I'd like to learn more.

I'm looking forward to hear your finished project! Congratulations on the success you are having. It is well deserved.

  8. My professional website (www.audiofidelityproductions.com), built by fellow ocremix'er, dancing/martial arts expert, a'maze'ing musical genius, and all-around great guy, Mazedude, is up.

There's examples of my compositions and productions; and it serves to act as a portal for sharing what's going on with me and my artistry.

And in other news, I have plans to finish a Lufia ballad for guitar and female vocals, an atmospheric Chrono Cross dance track, and an upbeat ethnic Secret of Mana rendition for the community in the future.

    Peace.

  9. Consent from flutetopia, probably. Track comments and bio possibly. Been meaning to check what's missing for everyone, see how much of everything and everyone I've got.

If the track is subbed to ocr, that counts as consent as well.

It's not getting subbed. I already told Abi. You should just go to her. She's my friend on facebook. Find out if there's anything else and let me know personally.
