  1. I just pre-reg'd. I will be there. :D

School starts the same day as MAG for me :/ so I'll make it there Friday night and then stay to Monday morning probably.

I still gotta figure who I'll stay with. If anyone sees this and has space, let me know.

Looking forward to seeing all you faces and not sleeping. haha

  2. I downloaded this album right when it was released, and to be quite honest with you did not care too much for it. Sure, there were some great tracks, and the quality is great as always, but I wasn't familiar with the source material, having never played FFIV, and so the songs were just that - songs that were okay, but I didn't feel like the album made that much of an impact on me.

    HOWEVER...

I just recently finished playing through FFIV (on the GBA port). I finished the game, and suddenly remembered that this album existed, so I gave it another listen.

    IT'S SO MUCH BETTER.

Seriously, not only do I know the source material now, but I know the story, which really ties the whole album together. I realize that the focus of the album was to tell the story with the music, and really, you did - I can see that now that I know what the story is. This album is crafted incredibly well - props to the project directors for envisioning it and to the artists for following that vision.

Also, my two favorites are Fighting for Tomorrow and In the Land of Dwarves. Fantastic.

that's the best comment i've heard on this thread - thank you :)

  3. I want to thank everyone for all the comments about the mix. They're all absolutely appreciated. What I intended with the song was to tell a story without words, and judging from some of the responses, I was at least moderately successful :nicework:

I won't speak too much but I couldn't have done any of this without Jay, as he definitely took all the ideas I wanted to implement and ran with them while adding a ton all his own.

Keep on rocking, folks. /obligatory shoutout to OA for awesome FF4 project/

i love you too buddy - lets rock out again soon :D

  4. yay! connor is an official mixer finally! congratz buddy! :D

i really like this song and what you guys did - the chorus really soars and the hook feels awesome

the old version was still a little more special for me, with the blend and maybe cause it just blew me away first, but I can understand the gripes.

and i just need to say that the vocalist in this track is amazing - i really like your voice dude - the processing is very tasteful and I really don't appreciate over-processed vox

  5. It's Vegas - that you get for free :-P

Well ya but only when your losing money gambling :P

So Im on the fence about about the 18 year olds. Not that we're all gonna be in complete excess. But people drinking in hotels or what not, complications could arise. And the biggest thing is just being around casinos and the like. They don't mess around there. I don't like the idea of splitting people up or having to work the group around a few people that can't participate. We were out pretty late doing things in places where 18 year olds wouldn't have access to.

But on the flip side for those thinking it's all about strip clubs and gambling, it certainly is not. While those are the cliche attractions. Just walking around the strip and all it's craziness is more than enough for the journey. It's just crazy how much is out there. It's quite the experience and there is tons to see, fanastic shows (mystere is amazing), and great places to shop.

    Good times ahead :)

  6. Sweet!

Very excited about this. Let's do something as big as possible. I talked to a lot of people at MAG like Amy and Vinnie, and BGC who also sounded interested. Let's get Dave on board and have our own OCR summer con in Vegas :D. I'll do whatever I can in my power to help something happen on my old turf. I may be able to help with lodging and rides.

Ari was talking about using allegiant air. But they are limited. I usually go with southwest who is amazing. bt plan to book your tix now and it should be farely cheap.

If you look for the right deals on hotels you should be able to find Vegas strip hotels for like 39 bucks a night. Also keep in mind that food there is pretty cheap. We had many a 2 dollar breakfasts and 7 dollar filets with microbrewery beer. Def try to stay on the strip if you want the right Vegas experience.

Plan early guys and let's do this :)

also we're celebrating katie's bday as well since it's so close
