  1. Congratulations, buddy! Fantastic work! Thoroughly enjoy your hard work. What moving music you have written. The piano melody that opens is the first thing that comes to mind.

I only wish the game were easier. I am already at a pickle in the first 5 minutes with no money and can't progress. But I can give it a much more fitting shot. I'm just used to be able to bail myself out in RPG's.

  2. Brian, what studio were you at when you were out here? I'm curious as to who this music genius is.

But anywho, I agree that this need to be marketed by audio/recording companies, that you need this great new tool to get this new sound, is soon to be hopefully a dying trend as people wise up that the technology is coming to a plateau and that most have plenty of tools to make great music already at their disposal and they need to shift their focus back to the craft.

There is certainly a synergy that happens with the gear, and I'm all for it as I'm sure you are. WIth the new technology, in its abuse and poor uses of it often because we all are amateur in some realm of music as we take on more tasks as composers and engineers, we are just starting to find a balance on how to use it.

For me it's the same concept of why people lose the first 6 months, to a year, lost in their iphones playing mindless games and wasting their time.

  3. My mix of Zeromus (mastered)

    http://www.mediafire.com/?alvaa481b9mr0n4

Just listened to this again and thought I would share. I appreciate Zircon's contribution to this project by mixing the track that was released, but I still feel it lost my vision and am upset about how my mix was voted down and how it was never pushed for the site with Andy's mix. I feel like I let everyone involved down, and didn't fight for my own integrity.

I still like this master, but I certainly feel I could do a better job and wouldn't have the same pressures now along with better tools and forethought of jumping into something this deep. If there's any interest let me know. I still may remix this, and I mean re-mix (like technically, not musically like this site).

  4. Things are wrapping up on this, and an early 2012 release is imminent. It will most likely be right after MMX for schedule, but of course these things tend to change. :-)

    some fun facts:

    - Most of the songs feature a guitar on them. Almost all of the guitars are acoustic. :o

    - Overall playtime is just a little under 1 hour

    - There are several vocal songs

    - over 3/4 of the album tracks have live instruments

Interesting. Can't wait to hear this come together!

  5. What exactly do you need this money for? Studio time? Printing costs? Tacos and drugs?

If you are going to be straight up asking for money at least mention what you need it for. There are plenty of musicians who work very hard on the side to support their own music, so why should they give any cash to you? Not trying to bring you down, just list some reasons please.

Yeah, like Shariq said, it's for the mixing/mastering and duplication. I know Jessie is just getting by and she is hurting to move forward as most of us musicians and artists are. Gotta support each other!

Thanks OA for the twitter love. You guys are awesome.

Also, 'Alive' is the track to check out. :)

  6. Hi everyone.

I don't ask for many things from the community that I contribute to that has been so nurturing for me as an artist but I am involved in a project with a friend that needs help.

She has a Kickstarter page for an album we are working together to put out. The band is called "Blue Heart Hour". I play bass, have mixed and mastered tracks in the past, and am going to work with her on writing and producing some more tracks in the future. Avaris here on OCR, is actually assisting in a write up for Reason, that will assist her promotion for the album.

She is a good friend and we would really appreciate any kind of donation that would help us realize the project.

You can check out the website for Blue Heart Hour here:

    www.bluehearthour.com

    and the kickstarter is here:

This place is like family to me, and I look forward to sharing more projects in the future I'm involved in to give back and bring exposure to this community. Thanks!
