  1. Just discovered this piece, and I'm really digging it! Mostly due to the fantastic lyrics. Sympathy for a sub-boss - who'd have thought it?
  2. 1. Vyse (Skies of Arcadia) 2. Amaterasu (Okami) 3. Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)
  3. Just started listening, and loving it so far. I'm on the remix of Stilt Village, which is very nice - moreso because I HATED the original (Worst. First level music. Ever.). Turning a track around like that is pretty spectacular.
  4. This is lovely! You certainly know how to make Lava Reef awesome. Speaking of which, your 'Lava Passion' from Project Chaos is still my favorite version - in fact, it's one of my favorite VGM arrangements ever! I would love to see that submitted as a full OC ReMix...but until then, anyone who hasn't heard it, go check it out. It's like this, only with to-die-for saxophone playing.
  5. It might take a little too long to end, but overall I really like this mix. One thing that keeps bringing me back to it, though, is a weird similarity to another song. It might be just me, but the bridge (it starts at 2:47 or so) is reminiscent of a similar bridge in Sonic Adventure's Twinkle Circuit - the one that remixes Sonic's theme, "It Doesn't Matter". I checked the source chiptune, and it's definitely present in the original, so it's probably just a total coincidence...but does anyone else hear that?
  6. Been listening to Thieves of Fate for a while now, and this is one of my favorites. It's possibly the best boss music remix I've heard, in that it remains appropriate to a boss fight. Everything just meshes together to make it truly epic.
  7. Charming - just charming. Fragments of Memories sounded surprisingly good at the faster speed, and the "glitchiness" of it (to reference the artist's comments) kept it interesting. But what I loved most were the lyrics. For me, they really represented Rinoa's character well. Her emotion really carried the game, and this song brought back memories of that. Even the references to stars recall the final scene where she points out shooting stars to Squall. I could even imagine the main characters singing this to each other using karaoke. The shout-out to the title of the source material ("fragments of my memory") was also a nice inclusion. That's something I love about VGM music and arrangements - they can evoke settings, characters, and stories to give an added layer of meaning. This song also reminds me of a comment by FF8's main character designer about Rinoa: that he designed her to be not gorgeous, but cute. That could also be said of this song. I don't think it's quite perfect, but somehow that adds to its charm, at least in my opinion.
  8. The page for Chrono Trigger's 'LostFragmentsofthePast' (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00831/) is missing one of the source songs. It should be "Green Memories" and, from Radical Dreamers, "Under the Moonlight". I don't know about Schala's Theme - if it's there, it's subtle. However, "Under the Moonlight" is unmistakable here.
  9. It appears that the Sonic & Knuckles 'Lava Reef Zone (Las Trompetas Maravillosas Mix)' is categorized under Sonic 3D Blast, as a remix of Rusty Ruin Zone. There's a pretty little Sonic and Knuckles gif on the page, but it doesn't appear when I do a search for Lava Reef remixes.
  10. This feels silly for a first post (hope I got the right forum), but years of using Wikipedia made looking the other way impossible. Anyway, it appears that the Sonic & Knuckles 'Lava Reef Zone (Las Trompetas Maravillosas Mix)' is categorized under Sonic 3D Blast, as a remix of Rusty Ruin Zone. There's a pretty little Sonic and Knuckles gif on the page, but it doesn't appear when I do a search for Lava Reef remixes. Just thought I'd let the powers that be know about it. I declare myself absolved of civic responsibility. P.S. Now for some first-post gushing - I love this site. The amount of work and creativity that goes into these ReMixes is awe-inspiring. I started by downloading the first 1000 several months ago - I'll be ready for the next batch soon, I think.
