  1. Thank you for your feedback. You've also given me another idea to try with Vegas. Cheers!
  2. Recently, I put together a cover of Simon's Theme as a concept piece to go with an article I wrote on IGN about recent industry buzz that developers are considering a "Nintendo Vs. Capcom" fighting game eventually. I hope you like it. Cheers. Higher Res Version: http://www.kongregate.com/collabs/sounds/Kamasenin/simons-theme-super-castlevania-4-remix?sort=by_newest Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRHGG3TNSPg&feature=watch_response (Note: I've been trying like hell to use Vegas Pro 10 to create a youtube version with as little quality loss as possible while keeping the size down. If you have a rendering configuration that works really good for you, please let me know. Thank you.)
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6PaRh9-M2E Thank you for feedback so far. In my first post, I did mention this is more of a cover than a remix for the sake of saying so. As far as the overall quality, just posting anything to youtube mud's up the quality. My original track is 24bit 44.1. I could post it elsewhere, but I don't because I'm trying to build up a library for my own youtube remix channel. In this track, the drums were redone from scratch. The secondary guitars were also added from scratch, and were not in any way part of the original song. All of these components and the bass line were done with EastWest Ministry of Rock to get the sound I wanted. The synth stabs were layered with a secondary pizzicato sound to give them precise attack, and the secondary synth component was adjusted for extended decay. The pizza component is from Kore 2 and the secondary synth component is from Omnisphere. The pizzicato stabs at one part of song you mentioned were left that way for fast attack and fast decay. The other sound layered doesn't develop quick enough to be used at that one specific moment even if you get extreme with the settings. The lead guitar was created by adjusting and layering master settings, custom reverb, and various gain stages using EastWest Ministry of Rock. Hope that paints a clearer picture of how this was put together. I agree there isn't much of a overall 'Remix", but I did it this for the love of the original work.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6PaRh9-M2E Here's the newest version I just uploaded. The levels of the mix have been re-adjusted. Thank you for listening.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6PaRh9-M2E Update has been made to the track. Synth roll element has been removed, and the abrupt ending has been changed to loop and fade out.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6PaRh9-M2E If you've never heard of this game, U.N. Squadron (Known as Area 88 in Japan and yes there's anime) is a very fun shoot em up for the SNES. I decided to do a cover of stage 1 because its one of the most enjoyable tracks to the game and my personal favorite. If you haven't tried this game on emulator yet, I suggest you do. Thanks for listening. Enjoy!
  7. Here's an original fan ost i did a while back. Cheers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Th6M9IEzgQ - Zerg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_8iQ7sQ_6k&feature=related - Terran http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbGaXG1KmM4&feature=related - Protoss
  8. Here's a version I made of mute city for fun back around Nov '09. This was a test piece I did while first learning how to use StormDrum2, Ministry of Rock, and Omnisphere. I'm posting this for fun for your random enjoyment. I know there's a lot more than can be done and improved, but I got bored and moved on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rE_YjY9XFM
  9. The piece was originally made to loop, but I chose to end it the way I did to keep a quick softer fade out. Drum wise, part of the kit was midi sequencing cross blended with spliced up portions from loops. Running those samples at 80bpm did take some of the snap out of it. I could increase the volume of the drums and alter compression schemes, but I didn't want to drown out the subtle nuisances of the guitars and pianos in the piece. Thank you for the feedback so far. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRvnMC5DWec
  10. Remix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRvnMC5DWec I decided to redo one of my personal favorite songs from FF7 for fun. Hope you like it. Cheers!
  11. I put this together for fun, and I'm uploading it for your enjoyment. This isn't meant to ever be submitted to the OC. I hope you like it. Thank you for listening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ti2Wlxl2qI
  12. These 3 mixes were originally made back in late 2008 / early 2009. They were early experiments created as I was teaching myself Komplete 5 and Omnisphere at the time. I'm sure these could be a lot better if they were reworked more, but I've moved on to other things. These particular tracks aren't in any way intended to be submitted to the site, I just posted them for fun. Thanks for taking the time to listen, I hope you find something you like. Bloody Tears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EDgo2s33zs - This piece was inspired from the Castlevania 2 NES version. The first half is fan service to the original with extended content on the back half. It's meant to be a speedier boss-battle-like version of the song. Heart of Fire: http://www.youtube.com/user/Kamasenin#p/u/6/WVhlzbiYSXk - This piece was inspired from the Castlevania 1 NES version. Dubbed "Aura of Holy Might", I intended this track to be the heroic Simon Belmont version as you fight your way through the castle to face Death. Stalker: http://www.youtube.com/user/Kamasenin#p/u/12/C1RV_cKB2ZI - When I first played Castlevania 1 for the NES as a little kid, this track was the first time I noticed how awesome video game music could be. In the interest of being a purest for once, I didn't remix much of this song. I instead chose to modernize it and insert different drums with rock elements. I get that this is sacrilege as a remixer, but this track is meant to be purely fan service.
  13. When Starcraft 2 was announced several years back, I made short concept tracks for each of the races just for fun. With the impending release of the game in a few days, I just felt like posting these for your random entertainment. I know they could be polished and worked on a lot more, but I've lost interest and moved on. Thank you for listening, and I hope you find something you like. 15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U77s2ChN0rM I took the stage select intro theme, boss intro theme as the boss slowly lowers to fight you, and I combined these tracks with the battle theme. This piece is a hybrid of electronica, synth, and rock elements. The transitions in this piece are meant to keep the whole song as one smooth continuous movement. Remix Notes: Source material combined is about 40 sec. Remix is 2:46. Stage Intro Theme - Slightly extend with additional content. Boss Intro - Source material is very short. This piece was completely reworked and extended with original content. This piece might technically stand on its own as a boss fight. Boss Battle - Source material is also very short. I played with this quite a bit. New material has been added, and the arrangement has been changed. The second time this portion repeats, I spent some extra time making a fun guitar lead. I don't know if something like this can end up on the OC remix judge panel, but I appreciate your feedback. I hope you enjoy this song. Cheers!
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4lrsoviw7Q - Demo http://www.torquepowered.com/products/shoot-em-up-music - Official Product Page I'm pleased to announce to the OCR community that my first royalty free video game music library was recently published by InstantAction Inc. and put on http://www.torquepowered.com/. 17. First off, I want to give a big thanks to Emunator, Archangel, and Melbu Frahma for their feedback. I believe that I've improved this remix dramatically. 1 - New song length is now 2:08 2 - The piano now has a larger fuller presence by adjusting notation and sustain times. 3 - Auto dynamics have been partially removed on the drums. Once in a while I'd get a much louder "snap" in a snare that was out of place in the song. This theme starts out with a glorious sounding intro and exploration type of melody as you begin to explore the house of paintings. The body of the song kicks in after the first movement to show the emotion of all the paintings coming alive to attack you all at once. The outro is a brief eerie piece to show the emotion of one evil painting still remaining...the final piece Relm is creating. Hopefully now, this piece has a chance to stand up to the judges. Enjoy! 18. After beating FF13, I decided to play 6 again for some reason. Then, I came across this tune, and I just had to do something about. I trimmed down the original from 2:35 down to 1:08 while still capturing all the nuances. I removed the tempo slowdown changes to keep the pace steady, and I played around with the arrangement components. I also tried to give this track a more glorious / evil sound to it. Enjoy! 19. I hope Sonic 4 is successful. I'd also be happy if they took Sonic CD from the Sega CD and re-released it using Sonic 4's upgraded graphics engine with the original soundtrack.
  20. I just upped 4 pieces to check out. The pacing and action in your title seems like a Rube Goldberg Acme contraption. I put up a few pieces that may match what you're looking for. I also put up two alternate jazz style pieces that my suit you as well. Cheers!
  21. Here's a remix of rocket knight adventures stage 1-1. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c2GCwOifIU
  22. Here's a remix of stage 1-1 from the genesis version of rocket knight adventures. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c2GCwOifIU
  23. Your FF9 Battle 1 theme is already taken, but I thought I'd share my version with all of you anyways. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RbkpkMHIu8
