  3. been busy as fuck with getting my classical violin portfolio ready. finally found a pianist who'll work with me for free(I'm broke). I have WIPs for both Hermit's Library Daguerreo & Unforgettable Silhouette for two violins(also participating in An Overclocked Christmas Vol. 9). I'm trying to save up money to afford a subscription to EWQL composer cloud so I can finally finish my ff9 & ff4 Oratorios, my ff5 & ff6 tone poems, working on my Video Games Live Portfolio, and that's about it. did I mention I need a new music PC(fried the old one) :banghead:

  4. I was wondering if all of you here on the OCR forums could give me some advice on which of these two techniques would get my performance portfolio to the most people. #1 Go with the Pro Unlimited Plan on Soundcloud(Upload as many tracks as I want at a lower bitrate for $135/year). #2 pay 5K or more to have the portfolio released as a physical boxed CD set(300 Copies). I'd need a Kickstarter or indiegogo for option 2. which option would impress people like (hypothetically) say the salt lake tribune more: handing them a business Card with my info on it/linking them to my site or handing out copies of My portfolio as a CD box set. I do get faves on my tracks on soundcloud from time to time. plus I don't have to take out a loan to afford Soundcloud. my bottom line question is this: which method will make it look to outside parties like I take my music seriously?

    Thanks,
    Catherine

  7. Eimear Noone, composer for Blizzard and main conductor for The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, just announced a Kickstarter called Songs of Zelda: A Link to the Celts. It's an album of Zelda music arranged in a traditional Irish style. I particularly liked how The Windwaker Theme sounded in the promo video.

"come on guys they're almost there :< I've been hittin' up every relevant twitter account that I can think of to help this project."

My heritage is Irish and I love Zelda so Zelda+Irish folk music equals instant epic win.

  10. Now that I've not only seen what S1V3 offers but actually gone ahead and upgraded, I can finally say that I'm ditching Cubase and going all-in.

PreSonus know what they're doing, they've made some amazing changes, added new features, and (most importantly) maintained the approachability and stability and workflow this DAW is known (and loved) for.

I'm super-psyched and I'm just sharing the news here in case someone else is looking to switch, or looking for their first DAW.

I'm now something of an S1 evangelist/fanboy, and while I still respect & love 'em all, S1 is my new best friend, and I look forward to a long relationship with it.

I've had studio one ever since the beginning. Will upgrade to V3 once I get my Custom PC
