hi all! here is my latest remix attempt, inspired by Tetris Friends, Block Party(specifically blocks pole & L) & Era Medieval Legends
-
also, in the kontakt line of things which is more bang for your buck? Komplete 9 or Komplete 9 ultimate?
and just for kicks n giggles, which composing software do y'all like best? Finale or Sibelius(I love Sibelius myself lol)

thanks for all the feedback, really. here are two things i'm looking for in new libraries:
less than 1k price tag
easy to use player(won't have to constantly email tech support)
so bottom line:
something similar to EWQL CCC WITHOUT crappy tech support.
here's what pisses me off about EWQL:
i'm here to make music, not spend 12 hours a day tweaking the internal functions of my PC.
tell me if there's a way I can have what I mentioned above not happen(I have windows 8 btw)
I read the system requirements and it seems like it would work but I dunno.
I've made costly mistakes before. I just don't want EWQL CCC to be one of 'em
-
EWQL or Garritan? do they both have good enough libraries to do video game OSTs? here's the problem with EWQL CCC 2: $800 minimum without ILok security key. tell me what you think!
also thinking about getting eduardo tarilonte's Era & Forest Kingdom libraries. tell me what you think!

the degree or the portfolio? cuz I'm taking music theory lessons. I just wonder if a 4-year degree in music composition is necessary. or if really good ideas and luck will be enough.

holy friggin' crap this was Awesome! since there are way too many tracks to list my top 3 tracks, I'll just list my top 3 moments
1. the Opera house. 'nuff said
2. the phantom train sequence. jazz party.
3. the prologue. close your eyes and you can practically see the opening credits on the backs of your eyelids.
-
ok, probably stupid question but besides talent and lots of luck, do you really need to go to a university to get a job as a music composer? (an example is the Trenches Original Soundtrack here on OCR) because I have a 2 year university level course book on music theory and I want to practice to get my craft to the point where people don't piss themselves laughing everytime I put stuff out.

Casio PX-575R Weighted Keyboard: in an audiobox setting for my DAW(studio one), would i set it as a stereo input? anyone? I tried mono(didn't work)

my Akai EIE Pro: here
I have windows 8 64 bit(the touchscreen interface) question: which 64 bit driver should I use for best compatibility results:Akai_EIE_Pro_X64_2.9.30 or EIE - Windows 64 Driver v2.9.42 (or just ASIO4ALL)? so far my audio interface isn't working I can't get it to even record mics in my DAW(studio one) any thoughts, instructions, comments anyone?

sennheiser e815s...does it record anything well? whenever I record with it(guitar mostly) , there's tons of "hiss". I don't want to throw it away though(50 bucks, ouch...) any suggestions on some better uses?
-
Because it's freakin' awesome.
Case closed.
coming from a composition standpoint, I listen to jumpstart my own ideas.

I'll say pretty much what everyone else has said: Practice makes perfect. as for a DAW, you might consider this(it's easy to use): http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/index.htm
a good music notation program is this: http://www.sibelius.com/home/index_flash.html
(I use these) Hope this helps
wow, it's been awhile. I now recommend these(I upgraded my daw):
Presonus studio one pro
&
ScoreCleaner
(google 'em)
-
300-350 bucks? no way. i'll wait till the price drops to at least 150
-
i figured it out thanks
-
what daw(software) are you using?
presonus studio one
-
how do you monitor vocals through headphones? i was just wondering how to do this so I could keep on-key when singing.I have a PC BTW, not a mac.
-
Xenogears (psp port): Camera Controls are a nightmare(haven't even gotten past the first 5 minutes)
-
FFXIII-3? nuuuuuuuu.....
-
is OCR doing An OverClocked Christmas anymore? I miss those...
-
so is there anything else I can use my sennheiser e815s for? I'd much rather not throw 70-80 bucks away.

use an ass-load of CPU and/or RAM. is there anyway to get them to use less? I have 8 era instruments in one project as a result my computer gets really laggy(it's only 8 months old). I also only have 4GB RAM:banghead:
