  1. And also I care about them making venom not blue too. That is important to me.

There should be multiple colours per character, just like in every Capcom fighter ever.

I'm curious whether there are going to be alt costumes. Like Wolverine in normal clothes, Iron Man's old armours and stuff.

  2. Obviously there's cartoony silliness in every Donkey Kong Country game. He's a Mario character in the Mario universe.

Still, it's all about balance. There are quite a few levels in Donkey Kong Country 1 that are extremely moody and immersive, and that was a big part of what set it apart from (other) Mario games. The series slowly lost more of that as it went on, until Donkey Kong 64 which was, from start till finish, just as brightly colored and cheerful as Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie.

I still enjoyed all four games.

Also, there have been good Donkey Kong games since then. Mario vs. Donkey Kong, DK King of Swing and (especially) Donkey Kong Jungle Beat were all great. Maybe not classics like DKC 1 and 2, but still.

  3. The only thing I have to say is: GET FIREFOX

I have Firefox, I just prefer using Opera.

If a website requires me to switch to another browser, and it isn't my banking site or something, chances are I'm just not going to bother.

bLiNd may or may not care about that.

  4. It's completely unnecessary, but I'm interested to see it nonetheless.

    qft

I'm more interested in the game library.

That's true. The press conference mostly introduced it as a multimedia device, which surprised me since Nintendo usually doesn't do that. They mentioned Kid Icarus but otherwise not a lot about the games. Hearing there are going to be great 3D N64 game remakes and other stuff makes me a LOT more interested in this thing.

And hey, I still have an old, phat DS. The 3DS is backwards compatible, so it could also be a great replacement.

You know what, yeah I'm almost certainly getting one :)

  5. I need to see one of these in action before I can really know how I feel about it. Just like with the PlayStation 3 3D stuff. A video of a live demo just doesn't tell me anything.

Still, from what I'm hearing and reading, it looks REALLY nice and I'll probably want one.

  6. My first impression was that I really don't like the title. "Epic" is a word that has been so overused on the internets that I don't really like seeing it in the title of a Kirby game.

Then I actually saw the trailer and... well Darkesword said it best: DAY ONE PURCHASE.

There are quite a few awesome Kirby games where he doesn't suck up enemies or fly. Canvas Curse / Power Paintbrush, Kirby Pinball, that SNES golf game and Air Ride come to mind. The game obviously has the look & feel of a Kirby game, and hey, he still absorbs powers from his enemies.

  7. I'm gonna risk sounding grumpy and give some (hopefully constructive) criticism here.

The site's menu doesn't work at all in my browser. Whenever I click a button, it lights up and nothing else happens. So all I can see is the main page.

The synthesizer controls on the bottom of the page also don't work. But maybe they're not supposed to? It's not really clear whether they're just for show or actually supposed to do anything.

For reference, I'm using Opera 10.53, build 3374.

Compatibility issues like this are one of several reasons I usually prefer simple HTML user interfaces over flashy animated ones.

I do like the black and white design, with colour emphasising the buttons when they light up.

  8. It may have been, however it was mixed along with the other ones of Vega and Zangief which makes me rather positive that it's official. If not oh well.

I was still curious so I googled around a bit. In Super Street Fighter IV the Super and Ultra bars look slightly different (example). The Fei Long screenshot is definitely vanilla Street Fighter 4, so it must be a modded PC version. Too bad.

  9. If you looked up the the story and last battles of Zero 3 I'm going to kill you on charges of extreme spoiler offenses. 0_o

Hmm, I think I did look them up a while ago, when I started playing Mega Man ZX. In my defense, I've forgotten the details.

    Do I get to live?

  10. as far as I can tell this game claims to exist but nobody has evidence to support that idea

For me this is a typical Capcom game release... Damn Capcom of Europe always screws up their distribution (except on the really big titles like Resident Evil or Street Fighter). Sad to hear that it's starting to get just as bad in America :(

I was interested in this game, too. I liked Zero 1 but never completed any of the others.

  11. I thought it was a well made game production wise, but they seriously need to quit trying to put more story in Mario games, the RPG's I can understand, but platformer Mario doesn't really need it.

I disagree, I like having story in my Mario. I'd actually heard that SMG2 was pretty light on story, so it's good to hear that there's still some in there.

Game's coming out this week over here, I'm looking forward to it!

  12. Yeah Vega's alt costume is gonna be awesome.

Cody's is going to be his original Final Fight outfit, looking forward to that as well. The prison stripes are getting old, I never liked that look.

Does anyone know if the characters who are new to Super Street Fighter 4 will get a second alt costume as well?

    • Fallout 3
    • Super Street Fighter 4
    • Borderlands (co-op)

and a few other games, off and on.

I was actually thinking of getting Resonance of Fate after I finish Fallout.

The main drawback is that it'll be a huge time sink, just like Fallout and other RPGs. I don't have as much time to play video games as I used to and my tastes actually seem to have widened... so I prefer shorter games that I can actually finish.

  13. It really does. I think Nintendo must have used some gaming magic to make all the sound effect be in time to the music, and in some cases (Like coins) the same chord.

They've actually been doing this in a lot of their games since Wind Waker. It's pretty awesome.

Wii Music was pretty much based on the same concept.

REALLY looking forward to Galaxy 2 now :<
